Rheumatoid arthritis

Hi ladies !

I just got back from my orthopedic dr. app. for my foot problems. The good news is that my stress fracture that I had in my foot is about 60-70 % better
Bad news is might have Rheumatoid arthritis - like I need one more thing wrong with me I'm going to get a blood few blood tests done tommorrow. The Ortho dr. said there is a good possibility that I have RA ( my sister has it). Sooooo, here we go again. You guys know what I mean...........
Cross your fingers for me that the blood test comes back neg for RA. Thanks for letting me update ( & vent) 's

Rheumatoid arthritis

Thanks girls for all the 's & finger crossing !
Tickles: I already know that I have arthritis in my hands, feet & spine - from other x-rays & an MRI. But lately my right leg has been swelling in my knee- it gets hot & red also. Sometimes my foot or my ankle will swell up & hurts like a _ _ _ _ _ .
Just seems like I never get a break, you guys know what I mean. I'm going to look up RA on the web & see what I find on it.
Thanks again

Rheumatoid arthritis

(((((Susan)))))) Those are certainly good news about your foot .

I'm sorry about the possible RA dx. As you know, I'm also looking at a possible RA dx: I have lots of the symptoms, though none of the swelling and redness... yet and my aunt had a really extreme case of it, as did other members of my family, on my dad's side. So far, it's too early for a firm dx: x-rays and blood tests came back negative.

The good news, if it is RA, is that it can now be treated effectively. Right now, I'm taking anti-inflammatories (mobicox) once a day and only get a bit of break-through pain when I'm too active (I've decided to try and maintain as normal a life as possible, including biking and walking) or a lot of it when stress takes over. In those cases, I can manage most of it with tylenol and with heat.

((((Susan))))) I sure hope that it's not RA and that it is something that will easily be treated FOR GOOD.
