Endometriosis and HRT- I need info!

I am 32, 8 weeks post BSO with complications (infection on a massive scale). I still have my uterus because it was firmly adhered to my bowels and other organs and it was too risky to remove. I have endo and have not started any HRT as yet. Doc and I were hoping to go without any HRT as I was doing so well (no bad hot flashes or other symptoms for almost 7 weeks). But, now I'm starting to not do so well; sex has become very disappointing and I'm dry everywhere, head to toe and all the important places in between! My mind is very interested in sex but my body doesn't seem to care, it's very difficult to get anything down there to respond. I can't possibly live this way, I liked Sex! Now, I've got to consider HRT and I know that may "wake up" the endo.

I need an info source on endometriosis. I didn't know I had it until post-op because they found it in pathology. I went under the knife in an emergency dur to the massive infection and endo was an afterthought. Now, it is a major player and I need help ladies.

I know youll come through for me! Your own info/advice/knowledge, web sites, books, etc. Let me know!

Endo

Hi,
I know this is a tough subject. I had severe endo and I am 3 weeks post op TAH/BSO and they put me on a small dose Climara in the patch. My Dr. said the chances of it returning are pretty small. Well I had to call him a week ago and ask for a higher dosage and that did the trick! I'm not sure what your Dr is thinking but would be helpful to make an appointment or call to discuss these issues. I felt that I could not handle the side effects of no hormones compared to endo growing back. Good luck!! Jean

Endometriosis and HRT- I need info!

I had a total hyst (TAH/BSO 1/5/01) for a cyst on my left ovary and a lot of huge fibroids in my uterus. They didn't know I also had endo everywhere (connected to my bowel and who knows what else) until my surgery.
My doc put me on 0.3 mg Premarin (smallest dose available) at my 6 week post op check-up and said she would not increase it until I was 6 months post. Her theory was it was less estrogen than my body had been producing on it's own before my hyst.
At 6 months she increased it to .625 (the 0.3 was really not enough I still had a lot of menopausal symptoms but I survived the 6 months) and I've been doing great ever since.
Good luck to you!
Ann
