Nerve Entrapment and a Hello :)

Hello to all of my sisters on the road

I saw the Endo specialist yesterday morning and he feels I have nerve entrapment. I know many of you guys have gone through the treatments etc...so I thought I'd ask about your experiences (I'm also going to do a search here).

He also feels that this 'hole' is just a fold resulting from the hyst. He did want me to buy some tampons to see if any urine is coming out of there.

He had nothing to say about the mass on my bladder, but feels confident that the Uro-Gyn I'll be seeing next month will be able to shed some light on that for me.

He wants me to go on a Cancer Diet?! I dunno...we'll see. I'll do some research on it. Have any of you gone on this for Endo?

I think that's it. I'm so sorry I haven't been around much these days. The pain has been so bad...and we're trying to plan a party for my sisters 40th Birthday this weekend. She's going through a lot right now, and I want to do something special for her. Please say some prayers that I can get through it...

Love to you all...Jude

Nerve Entrapment and a Hello :)

Hey Judy! Sending prayers your way, Sweetie! I don't have any experience with the nerve entrapment, so I can't help you there. I do hope you get some answers next month about your bladder. Also, I have never heard of the "cancer diet" for Endo, but you have sparked my curiousity. Maybe someone will be along soon that has some information on it.

How very sweet of you to do something special for your Sister when you are having so much pain. It seems as though you are always thinking of others. Good luck with the party plans. I'll be thinking good thoughts for you!

Warm 's

Lisa

{{{Judy}}}
I've been told that I have nerve damage, not sure that's the same thing as nerve entrapment. As you know I haven't had much success in finding long term relief. Even removing the nerves hasn't helped much. But I'm still plugging away. Of course I believe that my problems are more than just nerve damage. Some women have found relief with meds like Neurontin. Did the doc give any clue as to what he was going to do about it???

Good luck with the b'day for your sister. I do know how hard it is to do things when you're in pain, but we do have to live.

Praying and heres's some info...

THE most typical complication from a hysterectomy is neuromas or trapped nerves.

Take a look at this site, Jude:

http://www.pelvicpain.org/resources.asp

There's a report out there on this very problem. Hugs to you.

((Judy)),
I'm glad he thinks the hole is just a fold, please let us know how the Tampon test goes. At least you may have some partial answers here and hopefully he has a good treatment plan for it, I'm praying that he does I have never heard of this "Cancer Diet" maybe the gals on CC could help with that? Have fun at your party....

Nerve Entrapment and a Hello :)

(((Judy))) I've been AWOL a lot lately too but I just wanted to give you a and say hi! I'm glad your docs seem to be trying to sort out your problems and get you some relief. Nerve entrapment sounds VERYYYYYYYYY painful and hopefully there will be something they can do to lessen your pain with this. There are some good meds out there that work on the nervous system.
Good luck with your sister's birthday party - you are a sweetie, always thinking of others when you have so much to deal with yourself Hope it goes well - your sister is lucky to have someone as special as you are!
Take care..........

Nerve Entrapment and a Hello :)

Hi Judy!

Glad you're seeing the specialist!

My experience with pain management...the first words out of his mouth were, nerve damage. (He didn't say entrapment)

We tried 4 series of nerve blocks, they didn't work for me.
He also tried me on Topamax which is supposed to help with nerve pain--but I had a reaction so I had to stop taking it.

I'll tell you what though--the side effect I LOVED on Topamax was weight loss--no effort at all, I lost over 10 lbs in less than 2 wks!

All in all, I doubt I have nerve damage as I'm sure one of those attempts would have made a diiference in the pain if it was my nerves.

Don't over-do so you can have fun at the party!

Thank you sisters....

Gosh...I am in one of those "I just don't want to do this anymore" modes. I'm not suicidal....just so very tired. It does feel like I'm getting somewhere...so I will pursue all of these dr's...I just wish I had more energy, and less pain. Okay, enough of my pity party.

((((((Lisa)))))) I still haven't done much research on the Cancer diet...but here's the name of the book for you "The Cancer Prevention Diet" By Michio Kushi. I believe it is a macrobiotic diet. This goes along the train of thought that Endo is caused/made worse by toxins in our food etc. This may be something I'll be going on down the road...Thanks for your kindness...

((((((Kim)))))) The doc did say something about nerve damage...but I wrote down Nerve Entrament. I'm not sure exasctly what he was really talking about (a bit of a language problem). He did suggest that I follow up with my pain doc (who is a neurologist). I'm waiting to get another appointment with him. Nerve blocks were mentioned...I guess that's when they give you a shot to see if it helps with the pain? He felt that this could be one of the things going on with me. He thinks the deep pain is caused by the Endo...with bladder involvement. Thanks for your good wishes, and I hope and pray that you are able to find some answers dear lady...

((((((Anj)))))) Thanks for the link Hun. I must be really stunned, but I couldn't find the report on this I hope and pray you are feeling better. I know you are still going through so very much. I'm keeping you in my prayers dear friend...

((((((Sheri)))))) ((((((Lily)))))) ((((((Stacey)))))) Thanks for all of your support. It means so very much to me.

((((((Sabrina)))))) Thanks for all of the info and sharing. Nerve blocks were mentioned. I like the bit about weight loss on that one med! I hope you are able to get some answers sister...

((((((Emily)))))) You are so sweet to ask about DH. He is feeling much better. I want him to see a couple of specialists...but I'm afraid it is like pulling teeth to get him in! You are such a sweetheart xoxo

Well ladies...what can I say except thank-you once again. I'll be sure to keep you all updated. Things move a little slowly here (getting appointments etc) but I'm in it for the long haul. I do have the MRI booked for Nov 19th...so maybe that will shed some light on things.

Please know I keep you all in my prayers...S
