Protocol Question: Gifts for doc?

Hi, Ladies!

I'm 8 days post-op, still swollen, and having more pain, which I'm sure is from over-activity. I'm just plain *bad* at being still.

Did any of you send gifts or cards to your doc? I especially wanted to thank the anaesthesiologist and the pathologist, who were angels. One of the nurses was wonderful, too.

It seems like in my parents' generation, it was the norm to send stuff to your doctor. (My father was a doctor and was always getting baskets of fruits and goodies.)

What did you Ladies do, if anything? What's appropriate?

Protocol question: Gifts for doc?

Hi,

I sent a basket of flowers to the dr's office to dr and staff. They were so helpful in all my scheduling and faxing over info for my daughter's school so she would not be counted for an absent day. She is 17 1/2 years old and took off that day to be at the castle. The office staff seemed very appreciated. I think a basket of fruit sounds wonderful. Use your judgement. I hope you feel better soon. It's all good.

Protocol Question: Gifts for doc?

I guess I'm a little tardy, but at my 7-1/2 week post-op visit yesterday I finally took a card and two boxes of nice candy to the my gyn and her staff. They were so helpful, and everything went so smoothly for me that I really wanted to say thanks. And...they loved it!!! One of the nurses came in a gave me a big hug, and they put my thank you card up on the wall. I think they get lots of complaints from people whether they deserve them or not, so I think a modest, thougtful gift is most appropriate.
