Sorry to sound dumb, but what do you mean by an abdominal binder? Sounds interesting! Thanks for the info.

I am new here and don't know what a abdominal binder is and where do you get them? Does it work for everyone?

*hugs*

binder

An abdominal binder is made is made of stretchy material and soft cloth. It is made to be wrapped around the abdomen and it is secured by velcro. The purpose is for support. It should fit comfortably snug, not too tight or too loose. You might wake up from surgery wearing one. I did not so I asked for one immediately (I am a nurse). So this is something that should be ordered by your doctor and obtained while you are in the hospital. Also they removed my dressing the next day so I asked for an ABD (large gauze pad) to place against my incision for padding. I also asked for a couple ABDS to take home. Any questions feel free to email me. God bless.
