BMs and Bowel prep?
OK yuck, weird this site speaks of somethings that would never be normally discussed in public, ok 1. What is bowel prep, you mean a laxitive or enema or something? 2. I've noticed from what my kids have been able to put in the toilet that perhaps my bm's are not normal size shape? could this be since i've had a large uterus most of my adult life? should i expect something different, maybe better after i heal from the surgery? i've had occasional hemeroid troble nothing requireing surgery, but perhaps without the pressure of the 5 month PG size uterus i'll have less trouble with them too? oh they are also repairing an umbilical hernia, haha, been an outie all my life guess now i'll be and innie, don't know how it happened, think according to mom i was born with it and lived with it near 50 years?

BMs and Bowel prep?
I wondered about this bowel prep too and got alot of answers from the ladies here. I am supposed use magnesium citrate the afternoon before my surgery. I've read different posts here where some women had to use fleet enemas. I'm to have a liquid diet the day before surgery and nothing after midnight.

BMs and Bowel prep?
Hi ladies every DR is different in his or her preferences about the "prep". Mine just required me to do a Fleet enema the night before (I'd been so nervous there wasn't much for it to "clean" anyway! ). The best thing is to ask your DR what he/she will require. Then if you want to know what it's like, come here and do a search on whatever it is and I'm sure you'll find very complete descriptions of what it is and how it works.
Yes, no topic is too "sensitive" for us you may find yourself preoccupied with bm's for a while post op. First, "when will I have one, oh please, can't I have one?" and then "why does it hurt when I have one?" and then, hopefully "finally, I am having one every day and it doesn't hurt!!!". Plenty of fluids and lots of short walks post op will help you get on the road to success in this area.
Good luck with your surgeries, see you over in Post Op!
 s,
-Linda
