1 1/2 year post-op radical hyst and bladder & bowel probs, plz help

I had everything removed a year and a half ago due to ovarian cysts, endo, adeno and 10 year old placentia still in uterus. I have a very embarassing problem that I am not sure is normal or not. I am currently on Zoloft and zanex for depression and anxiety as well as HRT. I thought I might let you all know that because they can cause loose stools. To the problem..... I am having a hard time urinating, I literally have to sometimes force it out and even after I think I am done I either still feel like I have to go or it just comes out after I have gotten up from going. I do the kegals for incontinence but I still am having probs with my bladder. I also have to sit either up as straight as I can or lean forward to go. The bowel prob I have is I have constant diarrhea. Every morning I have to go and it is like I am constipated but never comes out solid. I also have to sit either straight up or lean back to go. I also only go a little and fell like I am done but 10 minutes later have to go again. I am so sorry this is so graphic, but I could think of no polite way to put it. If anyone can give me some advise or has had the same probs, please reply. I need answers, or at least guidance..

Thanks, Pam

Hi Pam has your DR done an internal exam recently? It sounds like you might be experiencing some type of cystocele/rectocele/vaginal vault prolapse type problem. It's hard to say which without an exam.

Do you have any difficulty with or pain during sex? What about vaginal dryness/atrophy? Some type of vaginal estrogen might be beneficial if these are part of the problem. Alternately, kegels coupled with topical testosterone can help build up the pelvic floor muscles... ask your DR about this.

These are some ideas... there is really no way to know what's going on without having your DR take a look. I hope it's something easily remedied. Also you might want to discuss possible alternatives to the zoloft/xanax combo if that's causing you so much GI trouble.

Good luck, and please let us know what you find out. I hope you're feeling much better soon!
