Well ladies, it's back to work tomorrow, YUK

Had 7wk post op today and it's back to work. Still have internal stitches that have to dissolve though, Dr even got one out when he did the exam. I will admit it did hurt a tad, felt very tender in there. Said all is healing very well and I can't resume any activities(vacuuming, mopping, sex, etc) for another 2 wks. Told him I had no sex drive and he called in script for Estratest for me but I'm not sure I want to take it. I'll have to think about that. Maybe once me & DH do it a few times things will change. Maybe I'll wait til then to make my decision. Also having a few hot flashes when sleeping but Dr said that can happen occasionally, not to worry about that.

Hi Cheryl!

Good luck with returning to work! Be sure to still try to rest as much as you can. While the initial recovery period is 6 - 8 weeks it can take many months to be completely healed. If you feel like it is too soon to return to work maybe your doctor can request more time off for you...or you could work shorter days for a while. Take care!

back to work

Hi Cheryl,

Best of luck at work. Don't overdo it. I went back after 7 weeks and I was exhausted, so listen to your body and go to bed if you are tired when you get home. Get someone else to make dinner and do the laundry.
Continued good health, take care of yourself

Cheryl,

Good luck going back to work. If you can find a place to lie down during lunch, that will help quite a bit. If you have concerns about the Estratest, you might pop into the Hormone Jungle to see what the other ladies there think while you're deciding what to do.

Thanks Ladies!!! I'm sure I'll be very tired when I get home. I just hope I can fall asleep tonight. Boss told me if I don't get in on time that's OK, don't rush. I have to get up 4:45 if I go in normal time but when I work OT I get up 3:45. That's gonna stink. Won't be doing that anytime soon, well maybe because one of the ladies I work with is on vaca next week. I would love to take a qucik nap at lunch but I'd probably never wake up. Tomorrow may be a pizza night and maybe something else the next. I know DH wouldn't mind, he's been great!!!

I guess I can look forward to being on vaca Thanksgiving week, YEAH, if I still take it. Probably will!!!!

I'll check in tomorrow on this subject.

Hi Cheryl,

I am 6 weeks post tomorrow. I went back to work 2 weeks ago, but only 1/2 days. I figured that I wanted my body to get used to the only grind. I am really glad I did! I am exhausted when I get home. I take naps! That cracks my whole family up, I have NEVER taken naps.

My Dr. tells me that I am healed up great. I was given the go ahead for the wild monkey dance. I wasn't missing it, until we did. Afterwards I have more drive and desire.

I wish you well with your recovery and return to work.

I am 6 wks post-op tomorrow. Went back to work last week, working about 5-6 hours..back to full-time this week. I feel great...only minimal discomfort and soreness around incision site. Don't know if my recovery has gone so well due to having a bikini line incision instead of the full abdominal one.

Does the 'swollen' belly ever go away? I was SO happy a few days after the surgery that my abdomen was much flatter and I didn't look 5-6 months pregnant. But 6 weeks post-op, it seems my belly is back to where it was. Haven't gained any weight (maybe a couple of pounds).

When you return to work, make sure that your co-workers go easy on you. Take your time the first week and don't be afraid to say that your tired and need to rest or leave work a little early. It's better to take care of yourself then to have problems later on.

Take care and good luck.
