My new doctor....
Oh my gosh, girls! I her !!!!!!! I feel so much better just to not have to dread my appointments from now on! She is my age, very caring, sweet, understanding, supportive... everything. She put me on Ultram, so I am happy to have pain relief stronger than Advil but non-narcotic like Vicodin. She gave me very strict guidelines as far as fiber intake to help with the constipation... she said no less than 30 grams per day. She told me to take FiberCon tablets, and that the stool softeners are not enough for me. She also told me about the Kashi cereal that I've heard mentioned here over and over... however, I was unaware that there were so many different kinds. The one I bought only has 1 gram of fiber, the one she suggested has 10. She said that the bladder and bowel pains I'm feeling are normal, as well as the feeling of being one big bruise. She said that the cold weather can potentially make pain worse - I didn't know! She also said that she suspects that I may have Myofascial Pain Syndrome and suggested physical therapy after the 6 week mark. It's weird... my hubby has Fibromyalgia, CFS and MPS.... odd how much we are alike. And yeah, now that I think of it, his pain is WAY worse in the colder months, which is why we are considering a move to sunny Florida. She also said that it could take as much as 10 weeks before my ovaries wake up, but we are not going to start HRT yet just to be on the safe side. All in all, I am very, very happy... I feel like I have a whole new start, and I'm not afraid to ask questions or say that I need help. Thank you for all the prayers and support. I you girls more than you know!
 , Missy

My new doctor....
Hi Missy
You sound one happy camper. So pleased you have found a DR you can relate too. It makes everything so much better when you have a great relationship with your DR.
Isn't that interesting about the cold weather? Makes sense when you think about it.
You take it easy now.

My new doctor....
SOO glad that things went well and you love your ! I really like having a woman for a GYN.
My mom has fibromayalgia, and that can make things tougher for you pain wise. She does find that cold bothers her..esp any air-conditioning that blows on her. She has used Ultram too and I believe liked it.
Congrats!

Whoo Hoo Missy
I am SO happy you finally found a doctor who will listen to you!
I was so unhappy when my female GP retired -- she actually paid attention to what I said (what a concept!)!!!
Now that you have someone giving you what you need, you can REALLY start your recovery!
z Sweetie, I'm so happy for you!

My new doctor....
Missy,
I'm sooo glad to hear you have found a dr you feel comfortable with. Even if you are still in pain, the stress of not having a dr you felt good about must have magnified it all! Sounds like you will be working together to "make a healthier you".
Things can only get better from here!
Mongie
p.s. Considering moving from this area? To Florida? lol ... can't imagine why you would want to leave just when out "best" weather is approaching! lol ...

My new doctor....
Missy,
So very happy that you have found a doctor that listens to you!!!
I, too, was diagnosed with MPS/Fibromyalgia a few months before my surgery. In fact, my first visit with the physiatrist was to be the day I had the hysterectomy. I have used Ultram and Ultracet both for pain and loved them! However, they are not covered by my insurance so, I had to change to something that is. Stupid insurance company will pay for narcotics but not for something non-narcotic that helps. Anyway, I hope you have continued success with your recovery, pain management and your new doctor! WTG girl!!!
