Hi everyone,

I have not had a chance to read all the posts since I was gone, but I"ll do that later today. Then I'll probably be out of touch for several weeks.

Our party was a great success and I ate very little. I just wasn't hungry. But it turns out that I had a virus, and I was probably running a high temp all day Saturday and Sunday. Monday morning I finally found a thermometer and my temp was 104.4 So we went to the emergency room and the temp came down after a few hours, but all night it's been up again, over 102. These high temps cause dehydration, so I've been drinking tons of water and am still thirsty.

I'll write more later, I just wanted to check in and give you all a big I have really missed you! Obviously I am not sleeping very well at this time, and I'm not getting my exercise, but oh I do hope I won't introduce any germs or viruses to my aunt or my parents. Rats, rats, rats! I fly to California on Thursday and then starts the big marathon to Florida and back.

{{{Desk}}} ~~ Oh my goodness, you poor thing, I sure hope you are feeling better!! That just really stinks to be so sick! Please make sure you rest and drink lots of clear fluids.

Today is weigh-in and I am really dreading it as my eating was pretty out of control for a few weeks. But I am going to try to focus on the fact that I had a good weekend (yesterday was not so great, but that was yesterday and does not mean that today has to be off also, right?) and that is a good start to getting back on track! Thats 2 days more than last week and the week before that, so I am proud of that!! My leader emailed me and said that this weeks lesson is going to be set aside and we are all going to share the emotional struggles that are holding us back! I am packing my big box of kleenex to take along, I am betting I will need them!!

I better run and get my shower and get Brandon awake and moving. I'll try to check back in after weigh-in tonight if I can.

Hope we all have the BESTEST Op Day!!!!!

Take Care, Dawn

Hi BEST friends

I can't even remember yesterday right now. Oh my gosh. Oh, forget it. It'll come to me later. I think it was a pretty good day, though. Sometimes this brain fog thing freaks me out.

Aw, Desk! I'm so sorry you're sick! It must have been frightening
to have a fever that high, not to mention MISERABLE! Glad it is slowly creeping down, does your doc know it's still 102? It's good that you're drinking so much, they say that always helps when we're ill. This is only Tuesday, so we'll pray that a couple of days will make a big difference for you.
So glad the dog party was a success! That must have been a howl. (I know, I know, couldn't resist. )
Hope you have a wonderful and safe trip & enjoy this special time with your aunt and your parents. We will miss you like crazy, dear Desk, but are happy that you're having this family time.

Dawn - How perfect is that that your leader is holding this special meeting? It'll be like a BEST board, in person! Please share with us if you learn anything that may help us all, too! Thanks Dawn. Your attitude is great; you're not dwelling on the past, just looking forward to today. I'm going to keep that in mind today myself. (Of course, that's pretty easy to do when you can't even REMEMBER the day before!) Thanks for that important thought.

Alright, babesters, we can have an OP, super-hydrated, active day TODAY. That's all, just today, OK?

Thanks for everything, ladies.
Xena

(Desk, only the super-hydrated part for you today! Good luck with your preparations. Feeling punk won't make it any easier so I'll be praying for that bug to LEAVE YOU NOW!!!)

Helloooooooooooooo

Hi everyone.

First of Desk I am so sorry that you are and were so sick. That is awful. Nothing worse than a fever. I hope you are well on your way to recovery.

Well I am back at work today I wish I could stay home forever. But nope. Nothing has changed. I could not sleep last night which was ridiculous. I have worked here since 1991 and have had this job since 1992. Oh well tonight I will sleep.

I cannot remember if I told you all that I dropped another pound an am currently 176. I have never really weighed this before as an adult so I am pretty happy. Things are going well.

I hope you all are doing great. Have a very OP day

Good afternoon everyone. Yesterday ended OP and today has begun that way as well.

Desk: Awww, nice to hear the dog party went well, but so very sorry to hear you've been under the weather with such a high temperature. Get your rest and fluids. I know things get quite hectic just before vacations, so just remember, you can't do it all... it's ok for some things to slide. On the good side, my mom tells me the Santa Ana's haev blown into CA. You should have some awesome weather when you arrive!

Dawn: Hope you enjoy your weigh-in tonight and get some valuable information to help you through your trying times (and share with us, naturally).

Xena: Hmmm, ya can't remember yesterday ... all the more reason to journal! Hope today is going well for you.

Bliss: hehehehe. Just keeping ya honest. Perhaps I had a premonition that you'd gotton off track with the snack attack.

Cath: Boy you weren't kidding when you said you do much better in the fall and winter! Congratulations on going down another pound. Must feel wonderful to be at a weight you have never been before! I'm thrilled for you!!

Denise: SNOW? Stay warm!

To all: May you have a BEST day!

It seems like I have fallen off the face of the earth this past 3 days!

Pampered Chef party was great. Lots of fun. I had to really assert myself and insist all items served were as low in fat as possible. Mid party she started preparing an item we previously discussed adjusting to a lower fat version. I stopped her and asked her to prepare it as we discussed. She was a bit irritated at first, but I had such support from the other people at my party she was "moved" to agree! (the recipe called for 1/2 cup olive oil.. I had tried it with 1/8 and it was plenty!)

Whoo Hoo... I am learning how to LIVE OP!

Life is good!

Hi everyone,

I think I'm OP today, but barely. I did do my walking this morning so that makes 6 days in a row--I'm very proud of that. There is major stress in my life right now, but it's nothing to share here. I am happy that I am not using it as an excuse to go eat right now. Tomorrow is supposed to be my WW weigh-in. Haven't gone for 3 weeks for various reasons, but plan to go tomorrow. Will be the first cold weather weigh-in with jeans on, so that will make a difference, but that's okay.

Desk--There is a children's book called Dog Party by P.D. Eastman. (It was from the same time period as the Dr. Seuss books. ) Anyway it's a delightful book and that's what I think of when I think of your get together . I am so sorry you're fighting a bug, especially right before your big trip. Healing s to you!

Dawn--Hope your weigh-in went satisfactorily. You are so right to focus on your success the last few days!

Xena--That brain fog can be so difficult. I was just reading about how brain fog can come from major surgery up to a year or so later. I was thinking it was hormonal, but maybe it's both. My sympathies to you dear. I am slower to think and speak and often write the wrong word (like ever for even). Glad you're doing well OP--you certainly keep all the key components at the forefront for us !

Bliss--Glad you got back on track--you are doing wonderfully!

Cath--Congrats on another pound! You are doing so well--I know you are so proud!

BSQ--It is great that you are staying OP while you are recovering--I think it is hard to do when one is inactive, so bravo!

Traci--Your assertiveness is wonderful. Many times the amount of butter or oil in recipes can be drastically reduced I've found.

Talk to you all later.

Hi Everyone

Weigh in wasn't too bad, only gained one pound! I was expecting a lot more and was pleased it was only one.

We got some bad news today. We found out this afternoon that the girl buying our house has been denied her loan, due to some past unpaid bills turned into collection! We were shocked as we were under the misconception that she was already approved! She obviously wasn'tand we were totally taken off guard! I cried a lot this afternoon and evening after we found out but now I am over the initial shock and am ready to move on with what we need to do now to keep our contract with the people we are buying from! We were originally suppose to have our closings on both houses next Monday (18th). That obviously isn't going to happen now! We are waiting to here back from the owners of the house we are buying to see if they will give us an extension on our contract with them. It runs out Thanksgiving Day (28th)! The girl that wants to buy our house is trying to get accepted for another loan, however we are not holding out much hope that she will be accepted. She should find out by end of this week, however we are not going to sit around and wait for her. We are moving ahead without her being figured into the plans anymore. We've put the for sale sign back in the yard and advertisement back in the local newspaper again. So basically we are starting back at square one! It was such a devastating blow! However I *cannot* let this situation influence my eating any longer!! Eating everything in sight isn't helping anyway... duh!!

Ok, now that I've vented all that out, I am ready to have a really awesome OP day tomorrow and I *will* have an awesome OP day tomorrow no matter what!!! : )

's to all of you!!!!!

Good Night, Sweet Dreams!!

Ended my day OP, heading to bed in just a bit.

Just a quick note, hang in there Dawn. You seem to be handling this last little snafu a bit better. Happy to hear weigh-in was better than you expected.

Shirley, it does kind of suck with the cooler weather means heavier clothes and maybe an extra pound on the scale. Would you be able to take a lightweight outfit to change into? I know several people who wear the same thing to every weigh-in. (or similar weight clothes).

Oh, and thank you. To me, because I am inactive, it's even more important that I am extra careful about staying OP. I gained 40lbs within a few months after one of my surgeries, and vowed that will never happen again.

Traci, I am so proud of you for standing your ground on the food preparation. You have come a long way. You are afterall, the Queen of your Village!

Okay, so that wasn't so very short. I try.
