Good luck with these, sweetie: I do echoes myself, and I'll think of you as I do my patients today.

And remember, this is so you'll be safe for your upcoming surgery...I had to do it for my hyst as well. Echoes are easy...most of my patients tend to fall !

Take care, and let us know how it all went, OK?

Best of luck to waytoohot (Nov. 14) Heart tests, Isotope test and Echo

Thank you all for your good wishes. I was totally beside myself for the past week or so. I went to my endocronologist for a routine visit 2 months ago and told her that I'd need an appointment to come back to be cleared for surgery. During the visit she was listening to my heart and said "hmmm" - no that's not something that anyone wants to hear. She sent me for a Thallium stress test and a week later told me that everything was OK. Well 3 weeks after that she called (the first time in three years that I've been seeing her - she's never called before) and said that before she could clear me for surgery I had to see a cardiologist! Went to the cardiologist who said that the stress test showed a damaged area in my heart - but it could be wrong so I needed and echo and a 3 hour Thallium isotope test. The good news (after all that venting) is that the tests came back normal and I am on for surgery for next week.

The endocronologist wants to repeat the stress test in a year - she's not convinced that there really was nothing there, but I'm healthy enough for surgery.
