The Count Down!!!!

Well castle day is Monday and I will be crowned a princess. I was glad to have received my "hyster sister gown" I feel so special ....I am now wondering if I should were it while at the castle or wait until I get home.....suggestions anyone??

Although I am excited to finally have this taken care of I am also, scared to death which I understand is considered NORMAL. I have faithfully logged onto this site (daily for two months) and enjoyed all information that was shared. Some of the information scared the daylights out of me but, then I always keep reading until I find comfort in a positive story.

Oy yeh...just a little humor for you ....several threads discussed the big "O" and I would read and read all comments about it (mind you I am still learning the sites abbreviations). Until it became very clear what the big "O" is........I thought the "O" was considerate a graphical sign for the vaginal area......wellllllll....I mean...... it is a round hole (I had to share that..smile). Silly me I laughed so loud when I figured this out.

But, seriously I want to wish all LIW's a successful surgery, speedy recovery and many blessings to you all!!!!

PS. I hope "waiting" WILL be the hardest part.

princess gown

Wait until you get home to wear it. You will have an IV for the at least the first day or two and then you will go home. Nurses aren't thrilled about disconnecting IV's so you can change your clothes - hospital gowns have snaps on the sleeves for easy changing. I also had a lot of drainage and after they took my dressing off it was all over the hospital gown. You wouldn't want to ruin your gown. You might pack it however just in case none of what I just said pertains to your situation!!! Everyone of us has a slightly different experience.

The Count Down!!!!

Tee3 ... you've probably read it many times on here, but waiting really is the hardest part! Soon you will be feeling so much better. I honestly never thought I would think having my TAH was the best thing I ever did, but after about 4 months it dawned on me that yes, it really was.

As to your Night shirt. If you like it, and it makes you smile ... sure take it with you! After they disconnect you and you can take a shower, at my hospital anyway, I was able to change into my ownnight shirt which was heaven because it's nice n soft cotton, fun, and make me smile. You can always pack it in your case, and if you feel you have too much post op bleeding, then you can just not change into it til you get home.

All the best to you and hope you have a speedy recovery!
