Hyst scheduled

Sorry I haven't posted in so long. We are without a computer at the moment and don't have the $$ to replace it as of yet. The only time I am able to get online is when I come to visit my mom and I feel kind of rude spending all my time online when I'm supposed to be visiting so please excuse my absence.

After seven years of pain from endometriosis and trying everything under the sun with a GYN who refuses to do a hyst because I'm "too young", I have started seeing a new GYN. I am now scheduled for a hyst on December 13th of this year. I am very nervous but can't wait to FINALLY live without vomiting from the pain I have during my period.

I have always had pain with my period but over the past seven years, it has gotten progressively worse. During my most recent cycle, I spotted and had intense pain during ovulation. I passed clots the size of eggs and bled through a super-duty tampon and TWO overnight pads (one in front and one in back so that my undies were completely covered) within a matter of hours. My cramps were so excruciating that I spent most of my time in the bathroom sick. My endometriosis has now spread to my bowel (which creates such lovely problems) and my scars from previous surgeries.

So, I'm really nervous but I keep trying to concentrate on what all this will help and I'm optimistic. But keep me in your prayers because I am VERY nervous.

I know the feeling

Kirt

My periods are like that I wear the super duper tampon and two pads and within an hour I am soaked. I was morified at work last month when I got up from my office chair to find that I had it soaked with blood. Thank God we had no customers in at the time. Hubby had to rush up with clothes then we had to find a way to get the blood out of the fabric. By the way ladies proxide takes fresh blood out of furniture fabric let it bubble then dab. I now can't wear a tampon because it hurts to put in and they don't go in right. So I am at a loss what to wear. We are trying to get my surgery date rushed now. Good luck on your journey to the castle and your crowning as a princess. I can't wait.

Hyst scheduled

s, Kirt and Denise! I'm so glad you ladies found this site. You're welcome here any time you can be here.

I know how you feel - it's normal to feel nervous about having major surgery. It helped me to try to keep in mind that I would feel so much better after surgery - it has been *wonderful*! I thank God every day that I'm not bleeding anymore! I know things will be so much better for you both. It's hard to wait but the time will pass and then you'll be on the road to recovery!

Hope everything goes well for you both.

My family is kind of irritated with me that I'm doing it so close to Christmas but I just really want to get this taken care of. Plus, I've met my deductible this year for my insurance so I'd kind of like to get it taken care of this year. My GYN's only open dates were November 22nd (which happens to be the day my sister is getting married), December 13th and December 20th. Well, I know that December 13th is Friday the 13th and it's only two weeks before Christmas but I've had surgery on Friday the 13th before and it went fine and December 20th is a lot closer to Christmas than the 13th so that's that.

Denise, I wish you the best of luck. I can TOTALLY sympathize with your situation. I can't even go anywhere during my period because of how much pain I'm in and the fact that it makes me literally sick to my stomach. It is awful. And the anxiety of wondering if you're walking around with blood on your pants for the whole world to see. You're braver than I am. I pretty much become a hermit during my period. I can not wait until I don't have to worry about it anymore. Finally, I'll be able to act like a normal 25-year-old!!!!

Sue55, thanks for the encouragement. I just keep reminding myself how much better this is going to make my life and that seems to help with the nervousness. However, I know when I get to the hospital that morning, I'm going to be scared half to death. I've had numerous surgeries but have been really nervous every time. I am so glad I found this website, though. I think it's helped to give me the strength I need to get through this.
