vivelle dot patch bigger than climara patch??

I'm confused. I thought I read somewhere on here that the v. dot was much smaller than the climara patch. I started on my 1st v. dot patch today, & was surprised to see it is bigger than the climara patch I was on. Both are .1mg. Is the only extra benefit to the v. dot over the climara in the fact that you change it more often?

Hi Debbie Are you sure you've got the Vivelle dot and not the regular Vivelle? I started out on the Climara 0.1 and switched to the Vivelle 0.1 before I started cutting down, and the Vivelle dot seemed a lot smaller (but different shape) than the Climara.

Oh my gosh! I just checked , & it is the regular Vivelle. I asked the doctor for the dot, so I'm wondering if the confusion is at the pharmacy. I'll call this AM. Is the difference in delivery the same?
This one is wrinkling already, & I'm one big hot flash. Didn't sleep a wink last night.

Hi Debbie I haven't used the regular Vivelle but my understanding is it's a lot like Climara; maybe someone else will come along who's tried it and can comment.

This mixup has happened to other sisters before.... usually the pharmacy will exchange them if you explain what happened and bring them back. I hope you don't have any trouble and can get the "real" dot!

Hi Linda!

It was the pharmacies fault. They had the reg. vivelle in stock, & didn't think the dot came at the .1mg, so sold me this instead. After I picked it up, the pharmacist checked his medical journal, & found they do make it at that dose, so was waiting to see if I'd call not liking the reg. vivelle. I don't like it that they go ahead & give you something different than what was asked for. I wouldn't have realized if you hadn't posted about there being a reg. vivelle vs. the dot. I cannot thank you enough!!
