natural hormones

I am needing some advice on natural hormones. I had a complete hysterectomy last May and my doctor prescribed Premarin. I've been pleased with it as far as it stopping my hot flashes, but I am gaining weight with them and they are expensive. I would like to be able to find a natural hormone (cream preferably) but I'm not sure where to even start. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

natural hormones

Hi Mandy and welcome to HysterSisters! I'm glad you found us. If you are interested in switching to natural hormones in cream form, the best way is to work with a compounding pharmacist who can make them up for you according to a DR's prescription.

First, you can ask your DR if he/she works with any compounding pharmacies, or would be willing to. If not, then you will need to find a DR who can prescribe compounded hormone creams. One easy way to do that is to ask a compounding pharmacist what DRs in your area prescribe through them.

If you don't know where there is a compounding pharmacist near you (I didn't until I needed one), you can go to www.iacprx.org and use their pharmacy locator to find one.

I hope this helps... good luck, I hope you are able to make this work for you. Many ladies here are on compounded hormones (I use a compounded testosterone gel myself) and love them!
s,
-Linda
