Whats causing my hair to go wavey in the back??? My hair is straight!!!

Has this happened to anyone else. My hair is about 3-4 inches past my shoulders and the hair on the back of my head looks like I got a permenant wave in it. The top part that covers the waves is completley straight. This wave stuff started about 6 months ago. I want my whole head to have straight hair. Whats going on here?

I can't be any help to you.. Sorry..

Peaches,
I have no idea whats cooking with your hair. I would love to know whats going on with it too.. Sounds like something out of the twilight zone.... Just think, you can be a whole new woman.. Might not be a bad deal.. I have always had pin straight hair, It would be nice to have a little wave to it.. One thing I have noticed since my surgery one month ago, is that i have more gray.. My family says "Kim, its all in your head.. You don't have grays!!!" Well, they are not looking close enough.. I see plenty of them... I think they just don't want to hurt my tender feelings.. Cause when they finally relent and say, "Oh big deal, a couple of grays aren't going to kill you" they follow it up with "Well, at least with blonde hair you can't see it!!" Can you imagine.. Bad enough everyone pussyfoots around you during recovery, but to talk to me like a five year old really takes the cake.. Can't wait to be fully recovered so I can take my time shopping for hair dye.. Anything to get rid of this phantom gray...

Good luck and post again when you find out why you have suddenly gone wavey... Kim

lucy7189,
The crazy thing is that my hair dresser a year ago said to me "you have a wave back here it looks like a perm wave". Now its alot wavey. I color my hair, Blonde. Now I do it myself. I knows its nothing different I'm doing to my hair. I'm 39. Maybe its hormones.

Could be hormones..

God certainly knows that our hormones are pretty much responsible for a lot of things that happen to our bodies..Could you imagine men having to suffer at the hands of their own biological make-up????? I think if men had to have hysterectomys, it would be a much quicker procedure and it would definately involve a heck of a lot less pain and suffering during recovery...

got the wave~~~~~

Well, mine did the same thing and it started about that long ago as well. I thought I was just getting the frizzies real bad until 2 weeks ago I didn't dry my hair just to see if I could keep the frizzies down. My whole family thought I had "snuck" off and got a perm. I love my new curls. I don't know why it happened but I am not complaining because I had straight hair and now I have beautiful curls that go almost half way down my back, and I didn't have to PAY for it!!!!! Enjoy your curls~~ mousse it and scrunch it and then "you go girl"!!!!!!!
