Changes in orgasm

Hi, all. I don't know if this is too private a topic, but I would appreciate hearing from other women about their experiences in this area. Thanks to any brave soul who ventures an answer!

Since my hysterectomy (uterus only; kept my ovaries and cervix) I find my orgasm feels like a shadow of its former self. I had no idea that my uterus was as involved as it apparently was! I still can have orgasms -- but they're missing a whole internal dimension. The best description I've come up with is that it's like opening the door to a house that used to be furnished and full, but now the house is empty and echo-y. I have no idea if this makes any sense to anyone. It's so hard to really describe.

Anyone have anything like this happen? Thanks -- Rosy

Changes in orgasm

Great question! It is an answer that I am interested in.

What was explained to me is that it takes months for things to build up back to where it was pre-surgery. A majority of the women notice no difference, where as a few notice a demenished feeling.

I look forward in hearing other's answers.

Take Care,
Jen

changes in orgasms

I waited until about 2 months post op to have intercourse again and I've noticed that orgasms aren't the same (yet?). They're not bad at all, but they aren't quite as intense as they used to be and it takes me a little longer to 'get there'. I haven't noticed any difference in the ones resulting from external stimulation, they're as intense as they ever were. But I can also say that I'm still a little tender and definitely notice deep penetration. Gee, that sounds funny, doesn't it? Just a little owie sometimes. I'm hoping that with more time, intercourse will continue to improve and so will my orgasms.

Changes in orgasm

I'm had a TAH/BSO (everything gone) and was worried about the orgasm thing, too -- I had intense uterine contractions, and figured something would be gone after the surgery. Much to my surprise, my orgasms now are actually better, and I don't even notice the absent uterus! I am taking low-dose hormones, which might play a part. But I've been very "satisfied" with the orgasms.

Changes in orgasm

Rosy,
My explained that during an orgasms the uterus and cervix contracts. Now that some parts are not present, the internal contractions you once felt during orgasm are gone.
Kegal exercises will:
..make it easier for you to reach orgasm.
..make your orgasms stronger/better as the muscles you're exercising are the same as used during orgasm.
..make your vagina more sensitive(you'll feel more). When squeezing you'll feel your partner much better inside. It will simply heighten your sexual satisfaction.
..prevent prolapse and incontinence.
This may help your orgasms be more intense.

Changes in orgasm

Hi

Glad you were brave enough to ask this question. I am only 5 weeks post op from a TAH, so I haven't had sex yet but dh and I are finding other ways to have a little fun and I can say that even though my uterus and cervix are gone, my orgasms are just as fabulous as always and I don't know what is contracting in me but something sure is and it feels real good.

I do think that for some women once the abdominal area heals more then their orgasms start feeling stronger.

Take care

Inner changes

My doc said go solo, lol. I use to have uterine contractions that felt really great. Now they are vaginal and still feel great as well. Those uterine contractions has started causing a lot of pain over time, so I am glad for the trade off. 's to you!
