Just keep sleeping and crying.. my ovaries were left in so thats not it. Makes no sense.. at my 2nd week op on wednesday I was great!

Im flying to my parents on Thursday fror the holidays --everybody expects me to be better you know it'll almost be 4 weeks!!! Im begining to be scared about going even though my dc said it was a great idea... help!

POOR GIRL!!

I AM FOUR WEEKS POST OP TOMORROW. I STILL CRY. AND YA KNOW WHAT THERE IS STILL ALOT GOING ON IN YOUR BODY. I TALKED TO MY DR ABOUT IT AND EVEN THOUGH I HAD MY OVARIES OUT AND YOU DID NOT DOES NOT MEAN A THING. YOUR HORMONES ARE STILL MESSED UP AND YOUR OVARIES ARE PROBABLY IN SHOCK STILL AND MESSING WITH YOUR HORMONES. GIVE IT A CHANCE AND ASK YOUR DR. FOR SOME HELP UNTIL IT GETS BETTER. I KNOW IT WILL. I STILL HOPE FOR MYSELF.....

YA NEED ME PM ME....

s randysarner!

You poor dear, it's so hard NOT to do stuff when you think you're feeling good! And then the mood swings hit --- why don't you call your doctor and see what s/he says? Sadly is right, your ovaries are probably in shock (have you been having hot flashes/night sweats?)...

About travelling --- do NOT lift any suitcases! Please, please, please either get your DH and kids to handle the suitcases or pay a skycap -- you could really hurt yourself by lifting too soon.

I hope you start feeling better Sweetie!

Oh Randy, Sweetie, I'm so sorry your DH isn't going with you! It really stinks when Christmas falls on a Wednesday, because many companies only give the one day off (that's what's going on with my DH's company)...

Glad that you've thought about the transportation and luggage issue, but I still think you should give your doc a call about your mood swings....

third week anniversary and crying

Hey Randy,

I can sure relate. I felt great yesterday, I felt great at 2 weeks, but tomorrow is my third week anniversary, and today I howled like I was heartbroken for ages and ages. I was just glad there was no one here to hear at the time, because it sounded gut-wrenching even to me - and I didn't have any real reason for it.

I too have kept my ovaries, but those hormones sure are tricky things. I also just glanced out my window and saw the moon is just about full, so perhaps .... LOL

At least here we can cry and laugh together.

Good luck sister

{{Hugs}} to you, dear! I had a crying spell during my 3rd week too. Even called the dr with imaginary symptoms. I bet they thought I was nuts. I am at week 5 and so far...no more crying. I think it is especially hard here at Christmas time when there is so much to do, but you just can't do it. Hang in there and take care!

Almost twins

You are one day post op older then me. I know exactly how you feel. I thought I was ok to go out and be busy and yet it still hurts when I over do it. Doctor had put me on bed rest for a three days to let things heal back up. It isnt uncommon to cry even if you have your ovaries. You've been through a life altering operation, you have been at home and in bed for three weeks. That alone is enough to set in depression:cry:.

Keep a log of the moods and see if you have any hot flashes . There is a chance that your ovaries could fail after a hysterectomy.Doctor will be able to tell by your moods and physical factors. He can also do a special kind of work-up to see if your levels are ok.

For me I feel much better if I allow the saddeness to flow and then I pick myself back up and watch a funny movie or join my family in the living room. But thats just what works for me
. Try not to over due it when getting back to your life....you still have three more weeks of healing so you can still hurt yourself if you push to soon and to hard. Take care of yourself. I hope you feel better very soon!

I think many of us can relate to the emotional episodes after hysterectomy. It is major surgery and impacts us not only physically but emotionally. It just takes time to sort through it and heal. Please be very gentle with yourself, and keep in touch with your doctor about how you are feeling.

Also, when you make your plane trip, please be sure to get up and walk a bit to help with blood circulation. There is still a risk of blood clots this early in recovery.

Keep pampering the Princess!
