I'm having very mild pelvic pain. Not enough for a pain pill, nothing that major. I was wondering if this is normal? Anyone else?

Hey Kitty Mom

I had a crampy feeling for quite some time after my surgery. So in my opinion it's normal. Probably will have it on and off for a few months. But of course if it becomes severe or you get a fever , then a call to your doctor is in order.

Yep

Hi there!

I have the same thing, operation was 12/10. I felt crampy, as you said not enough to take a pain pill. I was sort of concerned because I didn't know if the cramping was going to become severe or if I would start to have genuine pain, but I never progressed beyond the cramping.

Also, when I am more active--I seem to be more aware of the cramping.

A heating pad helps me quite a bit. Or if I am in bed and feeling cramping, I wll prop my belly or back with a pillow.

Hope this helps.

Take care and have fun,
Jen

15 days post-op. Is it normal to feel a little crampy?Very little, but noticeable.

Hi! I am now 5 weeks post-op,and I still get crampy,so you are totally normal in this experience. I was much more sore this time around than last(Had TAH first, then BSO/with adhesions on 11/19/02). I have no more pain meds, and don't feel like I need something really potent, because I can take some regular-strength Tylenol, and be okay. You are still very early in your recovery,so you will have this cramping and later,if you try to do more than your body wants you to,you may experience tingling/burning in the incision area. I didn't require hospitalization, but it can be quite annoying,so I just have to try to do less, and take more naps!!!! This is Christmas Eve,and I will be with company(at my sister's house),so I'll have a glass of wine or two,and numb myself to the cramping from sitting or standing I may be doing later on.
