5 days post op & frustrated!! help!

Hi, my TAH w/removal of overies was on the 1st. My dr put me on Premarin 0.9. I have endo and talked to him regarding the Progestrone and like everyone said he would he said "you don't have overies anymore so you don't need the progeterone". I read today from someone else that had endo that they didn't start the estrogen right away because of endo (and there dr was a jerk when it came to progestertone so they didn't have it either) why though not start on the estrogen right away? Monday I have to go get my stapeles out and plan on putting my foot down and saying straight out "ok, you said you don't think I need the progestrone but if you put it me on it away what is the worst that could happen??"!!!! Any other suggestions? I know some people say go to another dr, but after all this I just hate doing that!!! Can I buy over the counter progsterone??

HELP!!
thanks!
Kerry

I think re-opening the issue with your doctor is valid. Ultimately, however, the responsibility for your health rests with you alone, and you should take such actions as you feel best serve it. I would encourage you to read the long thread about endo & hysts if you have not, and work through some of Angie's long list of resources. This may be helpful in clarifying your decision.

Yes you can buy progesterone otc. I just posted a fairly detailed response on the same topic in this thread, and I will refer you there rather than repeat it.

Please let us know how your campaign works out and what you decide to do. We share your frustration that this problem is added to the difficulties of dealing with this disease. Sigh. [blue]
