pre-op anxiety

i got a prescription for xanax on wed. , bu8t won't fill til monday. any aDVICE ON WHAT FOODS TO EAT TO HELP BLOOD CLOT?

I'm not sure what types of food, but I was told not to take Motrin before surgery because it causes your blood to thin. It is OK to take Tylenol.
Just eat healthy and all should be well.

Everyone has pre-surgery anxiety. It is normal. But once it is over you will be very relieved and the healing will begin.

I'm glad you have a prescription for Xanax, and hope that you won't be too nervous in the meantime. I am wondering why you asked about foods that might help your blood to clot - do you have a blood clotting disorder? If so, then please be sure that your doctor, surgeon and anesthesiologist are all aware of it, and ask them if there is anything special that you should be doing.

I was told to not take any aspirin, and if you are on Coumadin, you will need to talk to your doctor about when you should discontinue taking it.

Hang in there - for most of us, the waiting part really is the hardest part.

.........we've got the same date, and I'm starting to freak out a little too!! Mine is a nervous energy, and this need to feel like I have to get everything in the world clean, neat and organized!! My closets, cupboards and drawers have never been happier!! As far as blood clotting a sister posted on another thread that "leafy greens" are good things to stay away from pre-op - so I've been taking that advise. Don't know much about it myself other than that!! Good luck to you, and I'll be thinking of you on the 8th - as I'm wheeled in the OR too!!!!
