Normal life after a hyster???!!!!
Of course there is a normal life, no more periods, buying tampons having to worry about breakthrough bleeding and the pain will be gone. Also, for me the sex is much better, not only is there no pain it is much better now...in fact I like sex again. I wish that I would have had this surgery 10 years ago.
TAH/BSO on 8/20/02 for fibroids & endo.
Needing some adjustments for my hormones and then I will be on the right track again.

(((Sweettooth))),
I'm sorry you have to have this surgery at such a young age.
While not everyone has a good experience, MOST do. So, maybe you can take some comfort in that.
I personally don't feel much different than I did before my hyst. I am just over 3 months post & still have swelly belly & some tenderness, but otherwise I am fine.
If you will not be on HRT after your hyst, because of the endo, you can try visiting the ladies in the No-Hormone Desert Oasis. There is a lot of good info there & very kind ladies who are willing to lend a hand. Here is the link:

Best wishes to you & hang in there.

Yes Hun rest assured there is definately life after a hyst, infact it is better. I do feel for you being so young. I am now 16 months post from having my hyst and honey I to had severe endeo so know where you are coming from. Hey life is better and endeo a thing of the past. I have become healthier and feel so much more freedom without endeo and monthly bleeding and pain. Endeo is a terrible thing, my surgeon calls it the silent epidemic, she is seeing girls of 11 and 12 in her office that have it. My own DD had a lap last year for suspected endeo and yes she had it, thankfully not alot so hers was caught early and my surgeon tells me she will keep a close eye on her.
Go ahead with the knowledge that you are doing the right thing, that you will have a healthier and better quality of life afterwards. Take recovery one day at a time, be easy on yourself and you will see in no time at all you will be glad you did it. My best wishes go to you for a speedy recovery and smooth surgery. Hugs Vicki
