Pam your really early on in your recovery and what your going through is not an uncommon occurance around here.
Stress plays a big part in how our hormones are used. I have been completely balanced for about 5 months now and Christmas did me in. I noticed some fluctuations in the last week or so and now I'm starting to get back to normal. You've really been under the stress with surgery, the holidays and then going back to work. Thats alot and it would not be unreasonable for your body to be alittle out of whack right now.
Another thing to keep in the back of your mind is that you may have a problem with the synthetics (these are non human biologically identical hormones) or you may have trouble with the oral delivery. Some of us have very efficient livers and just chew up the hormones before our bodies every get to use them. In that case the patches can be a better delivery for us as the hormones miss the first liver pass making more of it available for our bodies to use. The patches are also what we call "natural" or better yet they are synthesized to be chemically the same as what our own bodies produce. Many of us find we tolerate them better than the hormones that are not chemically identical. The bio identicals are also available in an oral delivery also.
You and DH try and hang in there. Dont give up. You will get back to normal its just a matter of finding the correct hormone for you but believe me it will happen. For those of us in the jungle it just takes a bit longer than those gals that slap on the patch or pop the pill and are on their merry way. Explain to Dh that right now your body is in complete chaos and you need his understanding more than anything. S
