just invested $$$ for a good nights sleep

new king sized, Cadillac of a mattress with cushy pillowtop, delivery at 11 AM tomorrow!! Gee, it occured to me after once again sleeping poorly, maybe this 20 year old, piece of garbage, bottom of the line mattress I have been resting my weary, fibro-ravaged body on for the last seven years might be a bad thing.

Really worn out after comparison shopping all day and then shopping for new sheets, mattress cover, electric blanket etc. since we only had a full sized bed before. Needed new sheets minus blood stains anyway. Luckily, all my comforters were king-size to begin with so don't have to replace those. Big purchases like this overwhelm me and the didn't make me consumer of the year, but I think I got a good deal. Eight hundred and twenty six coils, oh joy, oh rapture.

Still going to proceed with the sleep study and pursuing medications to improve my sleep, but I think I might be saving myself a bundle in chiro treatments with this new bed. Going to take the bed of nails torture contraption to the spare room so if Dh misbehaves, he can go sleep in the doghouse.

Dh blushed so nicely when I told him to plop on down and test drive the final choice. You would think I had tried to seduce him in front of the saleslady or something LOL!

12 inches wider, 5 inches longer, more room for me, dh and of course, the dog.

We did the same thing two weeks before Christmas and certainly don't regret it one bit.... sleep or otherwise

winkie back at ya Nel!

I will say something sweetly nostalgic about the old bed. Frame was on casters and it was a barometer of good sex in a way, since we could measure how far away from the wall the bed moved and how many bed slats got jostled out of place. Actually have me grinning jogging my memory like that

Maybe I will be more in the mood to try out the remodeled equipment when I get better rest. Right now, too darn grouchy and sore to think of fun and games.

We did the same thing a few months ago :)

Mainly because DH has a bad back. I can't say enough about this bed. We both feel as if our sleep/comfort has improved 100%

The bed we were using before was actually quite embarrassing DH didn't even want the guy who delivered the new mattress to see it!!

I can say that this new bed and boxspring has made life quite a bit more comfortable. I LOVE my bed...and actually look forward to snuggling under the duvet with a good book...or with dh when the pain isn't too bad

Gosh, I am like a little kid with a new toy here

Called Dh to come home and lookee, lookee with me.

This thing has a mattress so thick it sits up two inches higher than the old bed with its antique frame and the dog can't jump that high. Pooch is not happy!

I splurged and got the battenburg lace bed skirt that matches the curtains last night and everything looks so pretty. Piled my large collection of 16 pillows on the bed and it looks like an oasis for the sleep deprived. I also found tons of floral flannel at Walmart on the dollar a yard table for future home decor projects. Great way to recycle comforters I find at yard sales dirt cheap. Still trying to convince dh that floral bed linens will not lower his sperm count.
