Mood Swings
Had a total Hysterectomy by my GYN and a bladder suspension by a bladder doctor 11/19/02. I am 54 years old. One week after surgery went to the balder doctor to have the external catheter removed and he removes the staples, too. Incision looks fine, but at my six weeks checkup I had a bladder infection. Then a week later I started having bad pains on the right side where my ovary was. Went to my GYN and discover I had an infection and my GYN gave my Flagyl for me and my husband to take for seven days.
What's that about??
At four weeks they started me on estrace 1.MG. I took it at night and discover it made me unable to sleep. Then I took at in the morning and discovered it made me edgy. At six weeks my GYN change it to estratest, which contains 1.25 MG of estrogen and 2.5 MG of Methylestoterone. I have been so moody since taking either of these. I can cry at will, then at times I go into ragging fits! Over little things. I burnt the biscuits yesterday morning and went into a screaming rage!! If I can't find something or if it is not where I left it and discover someone has moved it, buddy look out! There are days when I simple can not or do not function at all. Just set and flip the TV. Never was like this before. Always active, kept the home clean, cooked, and had everything in order at home and work. Now, daily functions are an effort.
Very snappy then no will to even take a bath.
What can I do? I know it is suppose to take time to adjust my doctor assures me it will take some time to get regulated but I feel if the real me don’t appear soon I am going to lose it!
Anyone else felt like this and if so, what did you do?

Aw, ((((sweetie))))
I'm so sorry you're going through all this. It can be quite frustrating!
It's so hard, during recovery, to determine what is hormonal and what is just the body saying, 'enough already - I've been through the ringer - don't give me a hard time!'
Seriously, though, hormonal balance is sometimes so touchy and so tricky! If I were you, I really think I would keep going back to the DR, trying and tweaking different dosages and potions until you feel the way you're comfortable. So many of us go through this, and it's distressing, to say the least.
You might check out www.hormonejungle.com (our sister site) --- I've been in there, swinging from vine to vine myself in search of hormonal balance. It's full of excellent info and message boards full of wonderful support and insight.
Hang in there, sweetie! I hope things get better for you real soon!
