I am so Glad....

I am so glad I found Hyster Sisters. Wish I would have found it sooner but "better late than never." I have found so much info. as soon as I hear of a soon to be sister I will let her in on this terrific site.

Just one question....How many of you cry at any moment?

I had TAH 11/20/02. I feel very good and very tired I do worry at times is this fatigue or lazybones...DH, DD and DS tell me fatigue. I had great support from parents, co-workers and from my terrific DH, DD and DS. Back to work last week working 1/2 days will do the same for the first part of this week.

I had a bad time turning forty but with having TAH I think my forties will be fabulous.

Thank you to all the hyster sisters who do not but truly helped me in many ways....jocookie

I am so Glad....

Welcome!!!!
I'm glad you found us! I was like you, didn't find Hystersisters until I was a few weeks post-op.
You'll find that in adjusting to this surgery, whether you kept your ovaries or not, that adjustments to your body will be taking place and crying spells and mood swings seem to be a part of that for some of us. I spent an afternoon crying much to the dismay of my DH, bless his heart! The worst thing in the world is not knowing why or having the smallest thing set it off. Just know that here, you are not alone. Ask questions, vent when you need to. There is always someone that is or has been in your shoes. So, pull up a chair and enjoy the many forums here at hystersisters. We're gald you joined us!

Jocookie,
we are one day apart on our surgeries. I know that for myself weeks 3-5 were the worst as far as crying--I'd retreat to the shower (baths were verbotin at that time) and just cry. Well, this week I'm about ready to retreat to the shower again! I've been steadily increasing my activity levels with few problems till this week- lots of crampy/ achey pain . I'm REALLY bummed - I was thinking that I was pretty much over the "hump" in recovery- Yesterday I was out doing a lot of in and out of the car and I was very close to tears by the mid- afternoon... All this to say that, yes , I'm crying more than pre-op. so you're not alone.

oops

I mis-read your surgery date. We're about one month apart-not one day --

Don't feel it is just you. I was/am the "queen of cry" I had terrible crying spells. DH was so concerned about it, he took me to see DR early. I noticed it seemed to be when I was overly tired, or did too much. I still have little "spells" especially after a really long day. I still get very fatigued. It will get better, I never thought it would, but it does. If this helps, my DR said I needed to "occupy" myself more, walk more, go to the store, get out among the living. Even just go for a drive, anything. But in moderation of course*
