4 wks, mrh, still a slow go...

Today is my 4 wk. anniversary. I'm starting to feel really great but a bit slow in the walking. I over did it at 2 weeks and do not want to go that route again. I walked around the block on sunday and spent most of monday on the couch I am going to walk today, any thoughts from you ladies and your great wealth of knowledge. This site is a wonder. I love it

4 wks, mrh, still a slow go...

I'm at 5 weeks on Thurs. and have pretty much "normalized" everything. I did walk around (shopping with DH) a lot on Monday and could do it okay but at about the 2 hour mark I really needed to sit down and rest. But ya know, other than some twinges at that point, it was no problem and I didn't have any repercussions later or the next day.

I'm guessing that if you are used to walking, your around the block shouldn't bother you too much at this point.

Its amazing how different it is from week 2 to week 4. And if you start getting twinges, then go back and just try again in a couple of days.

Have fun!

Moswalt,

We are hystertwins! I am, at least on alternate days, splitting my formerly long rambling walks to 2 shorter walks a day (maybe 1/4 to 1/2 mile each) -- one in the am (time to rest) and one in the afternoon to pick up my son from school. That way I never get too far away from home (which happened once, I hobbled home, the pillow police did not come rescue me but good thing or I probably would have just done it again. I was, before my adenomyomectomy in Oct., something of a walker, and really love and have missed getting out. I do notice a fair bit of low abdominal/pelvic discomfort afterwards and at the end of the day. I gotta say, though, since my SAH 4 weeks ago was for very painful adenomyosis, this discomfort doesn't seem too bad to me.

I also still have a tender belly, especially as the swelling is going down (not all gone yet) and am just now trying to find pants that fit that don't look like sweats for my outings and the return to work -- I was thinking next week, but, now I am thinking not.

Only do what you can do, no more, because we really are all different. I find when I physically overdo it, I am much more prone to tears and overwhelming emotions, especially at the end of the day. Good luck!

Loretta
