So glad to find this site Im not the only one.

Im so glad to find this site!! Finally Im finding out Im not insane or a big baby. My family means well but I love how I get advice from people who have never had a TAH and how the others were so long ago they cant remember. My TAH was 2 1/2 weeks ago and Im having alot of everyone elses problems on this site. Im not ALONE!!!! I have the crying spells. I have noticed body odor that I have never had before. I am have just started having vaginal bleeding. Everyone in my family wants me romping the streets again. My Mother In-law said she felt fine after her first week??? My incision is bikini line this is the third time they went in the same incision I had two c-sections. I have also had to belly button surgeries for my endo. This is the most painfull surgery out of all of them. Does anyone elses family think you should be bouncing back so soon...................
Im not answering the phone anymore. You know what I think would be nice if they would come over and help clean. Ha Ha.
Im hiring someone next week to come and give the house a shine.

Hi Sandy,

So glad you found us. I remember well too, the first weeks when my family really saw how exhausted and in pain I was. I also, like you had a c-section, no comparison in my opinion. This, for me, was a much harder and longer recovery. Don't feel pressured to be on someone elses time table, you must do what your body is telling you, rest. And what is it with these women who had hysts years and years ago? My husband's great Aunt (eighty something), told me she felt fantastic almost immediately (she also was in the hospital for two full weeks of recovery!). I was in for a measely two nights. Anyway, take it easy, and if you are frustrated just talk to the women here who understand what it is really like!

I too had alot of people say you'll feel like a new woman. It is not instantaneous, and your body takes up to a year to fully heal inside. It's been 6 months since my TAH/BSO and I am just now feeling better, though I still have swelling. Thebody odor does get better, your hormones do play a part in that. I do however notice that I get moist with perspiration easily and don't know if that will ever change. Crying spells and anxiety are normal too. Are you on HRT? What kind? I took Estratest (I'm young so the Dr. saif I should try dual hormone.) it made me angry and I gained weight and just felt awful. Premarin .9 is working well for me, and I haven't been gaining weight. Don't let anyone else tell you how to feel, you do what you need to for you!
