needing a little moral support!

Hi sisters! I know lots of other people are going through much, much worse than I...however...I could really use some sympathy! I'm scheduled for an IVP in the morning, so this afternoon I'm having to do the icky bowel prep thing. Had to take four laxatives at once. ugh! And I have a real fear of this, after my horribly painful fleets experience a couple of weeks ago! I'm also fearing the IV in the morning, since I've already had phlebitis in both hands from my previous two IV's. Anyway - that's all. thanks for letting me vent! I know this time tomorrow it'll be all over. By the way, has anyone else here had a ureter damaged during surgery? What's the treatment? I seriously doubt that I have that, but that's why I'm having the test - to rule that out. So just in case...

Catherine, I've never had to have any of those procedures done, but did want to wish you the best for tomorrow and hope it all goes well for you.

if you still feel freaked out at the hospital. The nurse told me to ask for one if my anxiety level got too high...but I was fine w/o. Prayers for ya as you go back in.

Is there any way you can contact your doctor and let them know ahead of time that you are anxious about it? If not or you cant get through, please tell them once you are there and they may be able to give you something to help calm your nerves.

Thanks Maria! I know I'm just a big wimp, but I am so ready to just be back to normal! (Which, in my memory did not include laxatives OR IV's! lol) Anyway, it really is amazingly helpful getting words of encouragement from you all.

I just wanted to say that I'm sorry that you have to go through this right now. But you are in my thoughts and prayers..And am sending a HUGE and even some for afterwards.

If you will do a search using the words fistula and ureter you should come up with a couple of LONG threads from some ladies who had fistula repairs, IVP's, ureter repairs and shared their experiences... it might be helpful to read about how things went for them and what you can expect from varrious procedures.
