When does this "badly bruised" feeling go away? And whats up with these pimples???????

Hi Sisters,
I had a TAH/RSO on 10-29-02, so I am about 11 wks or so post op. I am doing pretty good. I have been back at work fulltime now for 2 weeks and have managed to not KILL anyone...lol.. I was wondering when this feeling of being badly bruised in my belly will go away. I can't believe how bad it feels if I lean on a counter, or anything bumps into it. It isn't the incision thats bothering me, its the whole big swelly belly roll that feels this way. Sometimes it is more sensitive than others. Don't get me wrong, its not a PAIN, its just a discomfort. And my next question is did anyone break out like an son of a gun at this stage in Recovery? In the last 2weeks I have gotten this big, red, angry, ungly pimples all over me.. They are not congealed together like a rash or anything, but they are sooooo grossssss.. I have them on my face, neck, back, scalp and I even have one on my leg. When I used to get my period I would get a stray pimple here or there, but this is crazy..Not only do they hurt, but even if I pop them, they leave such a dark mark on my skin. It looks terrible..Is there anything I can do to stop this? I have one ovary left, is it possible that it is working overtime right now, or what?? Thanks for all your help, I would have never gotten through these past 2 and a half months without you ladies... "Cheering" I love you guys.... Kim

Hi Kim,

I had my TAh in June and kept that freshly bruised feeling for quite some time........I didnt think my belly would ever stop being sore. I had surgery again (abdominal) in Dec so I am right back where I started. I have noticed that my swelly belly is getting better much quicker this time so hopefully the tenderness will too.

I didnt seem to have any problems with breaking out....are you taking any meds that could be causing it?

Hope you are feeling WONDERFUL soon.

When does this "badly bruised" feeling go away? And whats up with these pimples???????

Hello!!

I'm 3 1/2 weeks post op for tvh/bso for endo/cysts/fibroids,etc.

and I'm 34 !!!! I totally agree. Mine has started already. I'm breaking out more now than when I was a teenager. I am doing low dose of hrt to stay out of moneopause and so it doesn't feed endo too much. I was in this last week to doctor for checkup but started breaking out the next day.

On my swelly belly, I can't tell if I have gained weight or if my belly is swollen!!! I feel a little nautious sometimes also in the belly.

Hope yours gets better.

Very interested also in some help.

Lucy- I am having the same thing right now. Major Breakout everywhere- neck, chest, back, scalp, face is the most mild-matter of fact have some dry patches, but that could be due to winter dryness....hate it. Summer,I'm oily.... I was hoping not to get breakouts after my hyst. Have dealt w/acne almost all my life. Haven't spoke to my dr. aboyt this yet. IF YOU COME ACROSS ANYTHING THAT HELPS LET ME KNOW!! Take care. Pam

About the breakout - perhaps you should give your doc a call. My sis recently had breakout - a lot on her scalp as well. Turns out it was actually a bacterial infection and after a round of tetricyclin, voila! Good luck!

Ug! I was just telling my friend that I have never had clearer skin in my life! I usually fight blackheads on my chin and for the past two weeks....clear!

I hope I don't start breaking out again! I'm 37 and have been waiting all of this time to come out of "puberty"!!

Good luck!! If you go to the doctor, let us know what he says.

Hi Lucy

Not to be at all discouraging here, but I'm 5 months post and I still have a 'bruised' belly feeling. Not painful at all, just sore. Some days worse than others especially if I've been out digging in the garden or such like. I like to think it's actually getting better but it sure is taking it's time.

Can't help with the 'breakouts'. You don't think it's something other than zits do you? I'd be a bit concerned about the one on your leg...not your usual place for pimples. If you don't want to call your DR maybe your pharmacist can take a look and advise. Just a thought. Good luck.

Thanks for all the support!!!

Thanks for all the responses. I just wanted to thank all you ladies for all your input.. It is nice to know that I am not the only one finally getting the zits I was lucky enough to miss out on growing up. I know its just regular old zits.. I probably made myself sound like a leper, but it really isn't that bad. Well, its really bad because I AM THE ONE WHO LOOKS IN THE MIRROR..When my hubby read my post, he said, "Kim, you are nuts, Jesus, you only have a couple!!!" Well, a couple seems like a lot to me.. Especially since I have 3 on my face....I am also suffering from the dry skin. I know that part of it is due to the cold temps, but when I had my hyst on 10/29,I immediately noticed the changes in my skin. I have been caking on the cream to try to hydrate it a bit. I just hope I don't make it worse..
Could you imagine.. Skin as greasy as a cheese burger and big fat zits.. I would blend right in with my son and his teenage gang.. Oh well, the joys of being a woman.. ...
Did I mention that I am still in the brain fog zone...

Zits,brain fog

...and some days I have no energy-others I do and wonder where it came from...will ask dr. about that today when I check in w/ them. I found a good moisturizer thats not greasy and soaks into the skin. It's called Purpose-you can get it at Wal-Mart. I also use Rosebud salve for those stubborn dry patches. It may sound greasy, but if you apply it sparingly it's great. It also works for dishpan hands diaper rash and acne. My dad gave me some years ago when I had a cold for my raw,dry nose and it worked overnight. I have found this product at a local Farmer's Mkt., but you might try where herbals are sold. And the brain fog- scary, I forgot how to get somewhere last week and thought I was going to have a panis attack!! It did come back to me....I even forget what I'm doing sometimes...I hope this doesn't last too long. Good luck. Pam

When does this "badly bruised" feeling go away? And whats up with these pimples???????

Hello rincess:es

I am almost 7 month post op (TAH) and now I have this dreadful, painful case of acne. I really just want to cry. At about 2 months post op I noticed a small breakout...then skin cleared and was looking really clear. This month, I have very big, sore, under the skin bumps. They really hurt. (1 on nose , 1 on chin and 1 on right lower jaw, 1 in between space of eyebrows)

Actually, my friends say that they can't see them, but I can feel them and they hurt. What is this???? Are my ovaries not working now or what???? Can't a woman get a break??? I had bad acne in my teens, dermatologist just aggravated the problem. Not looking forward to this again.
