Wednesday January 29th
Good morning all!!
Sorry I didn't get to post yesterday. I went to Gainesville again with my friend..............she's so busy these days, it's the only time we can catch up!!! We talk the whole way up there and the whole way back......2 hours each way........does that count as exercise (for my jaw, maybe??) We visit with her dad awhile.......go out for lunch.......go back to the hospital and visit with her dad again.........then head for home. I did read everyone's posts last night but was so tired, I just read thru and decided to wait til today when I felt like me again to respond! And lo and behold I got here this morning and no one has posted for today yet so I get to start the thread!!
Didn't do too badly yesterday..........had cereal before we went, we split an energy bar on the road and we both had water with us. We went to Olive Garden for lunch and kind of blew it.......had salad and breadsticks and split a couple of appetizers and they were definitely not OP............stuffed mushrooms and a dip with crab & cheese and I don't know what else but nothing that gooey could be OP...........and all the bread we had with it.......oh well.
DH & I had turkey burgers on English muffins and salad for dinner so that kind of made up for it.........and no after dinner snack last night............I was in bed early.
Katie -- I knew the weight would come down again!! Good for you!
Nel -- good luck at your test today.........please let us know how it goes.
Tamara -- good for you for joining WW. I KNOW you will do well with it.
Dany -- you continue to educate me. Tim Bits? And just exactly what are they?
Sherry -- they have fitballs at Walmart, Target, and places like Sports Authority, but Walmart is about the cheapest I've seen. Just wanted to add.........make sure you get the ball blown up good and hard.........I don't use mine much because it needs more air and I just haven't gotten it back to my neighbor who has a compressor and blew it up for me so he can add air to it. It'll tell you on the package how much air pressure it should have, I think.
Well gang no gym yesterday for me so I am off to this morning. It's supposed to be in the 70's here temp wise so I am going to come home and do my cooking for the day (baked pork chops, rice, broccoli) and then hopefully find time to take my book and my dog and go relax in the yard............
Have a GREAT DAY, everybody!!
Ann

Morning all,
Ann, your plan for today sounds good & tonight's dinner sounds delicious & healthy! I am very interested in the fitball & appreciate the inflation tip, too. It's on my wish list. Pretty soon I'll get one.
I am doing very well, even went out & shovelled a second time last night as the snow just kept on falling! It was very peaceful, I went out after dark & all the kids were inside & it was lovely. Nothing but the sound of my shovel schwooshing over the walks and my own thoughts running in my head. (my brain's a runner even if the rest of me isn't )
Went to bed very satisfied with my activity & food intake yesterday & slept pretty well, too.
I do NOT have a meal plan yet today but will get on that right after my class this morning.
Oh yeah, remember when I told you I was SO ready for the day & had a plan & a case of water in my car??? Whoooo Hoooo for me, right? Well, DUH! It's freezing out there & what I had was a case of bottled ICE! Cracked myself up for being such a dope.
Made do with car cups that day!
Happy day to you all & I hope we're all as OP as we want to be!

Wednesday January 29th
Good morning, ladies!
I am happy to report that I am **ten months post-op** today and doing fine! Every day I thank God I'm not bleeding anymore!
I hugged the wall at ice skating yesterday but at least I was moving!
I haven't been OP for quite a while - really blew it this past week -and I've felt it, too. Weight stayed the same this past week, which surprised me. So today I am seriously back OP and looking forward to feeling better because of it.
Ann - I know what Tim Bits are!! (I live next to Canada!) They're donut holes. And the English Toffee Cappucino is great!! (but not OP for me)
Xena - your bottles of ice remind me that I'm not the only one who forgets things! Your description of shoveling snow is exactly what I remember from my youth. Have a great day!
A BEST Hi and attagirl to all you BEST ladies!!
Bye for now.
~Sue

DH and I stopped in and picked him up some java and Tim Bits on the way back from my test this morning. Note - we picked them up for DH, not me
I went to the track again last night. Probably won't make it tonight, need to get some things dealt with at the office since I came in late.
Test went ok, only a couple of tears from the ouch factor (I'm a wimp) and a few tears from fear of falling factor. Glad I have lost weight! My buns from 6 months ago sure would not have fit on that tiny little shelf where they needed to be this morning without falling off the machine. So big hurray for weight loss, my new back side fit the machine! What a crazy thing to be thrilled about. Maybe I will hear from one of the docs in a few days, but I won't be holding me breath. Keep your fingers crossed that I can go back to more active exercise and NO SURGERY.
We're going out for dinner tonight (good grades X 2) so I'm hoping for a nice OP day all the way around.

Hi sisters>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.
Xena – BTDT re froxen water bottles in the car!
Tamara – congrats on recommitting to WW – the trick sure is finding out what works the best for each of us…it ain’t easy!
Ann – even tho yesterday might not have been OP re food & exercise, it sounds like you were “on track” with your spending your day with your friend, and I imagine being a true friend by taking the time to go with her to visit her dad. An emotional OP day???? (although perhaps a bit difficult too).
(I love the Olive Garden…haven’t been there in years)
Nel – how’s the day going?
Sue55 – 10 months!!! I’ve always figured (through experience) that it takes a full year for your body to completely recover from major surgery…
Saw this hint somewhere recently, that if you are a nut muncher, a shot class usually equals one ounce of nuts. Since we seem to collect shot glasses as a sm travel momento, this seemed like a great tip to me!
Hope to catch chat tonight if my DS doesn’t get to the computer first!

Hi everyone,
Getting ready to go to WW shortly. Have had an OP day. Started off with yoga, which was a nice change from the WAP tape. Plus I've got to get new tennie pumps (a friend's daughter used to call sneakers that)--I think I've totally worn mine out. That's amazing, huh? Previously I could have had a pair for years before I'd have to get rid of them and then it was because of looks not because I'd worn them out by activity.
Dawn--Congrats on the 2 lbs! Smart to weigh yourself to keep on track even though you couldn't make it to your weigh in.
Sherry--One hour of exercise is impressive--you go girl!! (You'll need a new smaller black skirt soon .) How nice that you are going to get a surprise visit from your DS on your birthday--happy happy birthday!
Desk--Must be the carbs that put you to sleep. I hate it when I get sleepy and I have lots to do, but our body is trying to tell us something. I think you are starting to pick up on your body's signals well.
Ann--You are such a good friend. Hey, the salad sounds OP and you made up for it with dinner like you said. I had lunch with a friend yesterday and just by coincidence she was telling me how much she liked the elliptical trainer. I did find out there's one in our exercise room at work, but I haven't checked it out yet. My friend says that she likes the style where the pedals and arm pieces are connected.
Xena--My bottled water has been freezing in the car too, but if I keep a bottle up by me in the drink holder it starts to thaw. Then I take it in wherever I am going and I have ice water.
Sue--Ten months and feeling great--hooray for you!
Lisa--So glad the test wasn't too bad and every change you notice due to your weight loss is a wonderful one!
Bliss--Good tip on the shot glass! I do find nuts as a snack keep me from cheating.
Gotta go--will check in later.

Hi all --
Shirley -- the elliptical machine I use also has the pedals and arm pieces connected. Let us know, if you decide to try the machine, how you like it. And just to let you know.......it took me a little bit to get used to it........kind of had to get coordinated to it, if you know what I mean. The gym I go to in NY during the summer offers yoga one morning a week and I like it as a nice change, too.
Xena -- sorry but had to laugh about the water in the car!! It got so cold here the other night that the pipes to my bathroom actually froze..........entire house was replumbed in October!! Seems there's a pipe outside that needs a wrap on it. It was weird.......had running water everywhere but in my bathroom!! It thawed in a few hours.........had freezing temps again the next night but left a faucet dripping. It's not supposed to go back down to freezing again.......for a while anyway.
Sue -- glad to hear you are feeling good at 10 months post!! And thanks for the explanation of Tim Bits!! Kinda like Munkins from Dunkin Doughnuts??
Bliss -- only problem with the shotglass of nuts is.......if I start eating nuts........don't think I could stop with one shotglass!! I had a handful of Chex mix this afternoon and told myself that would be it.....and before I knew it I was eating the second handful (and I did manage to stop there!)
Nel -- glad your test is over with.........and no it's not nuts to be happy about fitting on the machine! Anything you notice regarding weight loss that makes you feel good about yourself is cool!
Will try to make it to chat tonight!! Hope to talk to lots of you there!
Ann

Yes, Ann, Tim Bits are donut holes just like Dunkin' Donuts Munchkins - I had tried to remember that name (Munchkins) but I guess I've been up here so long (no D. Donuts here), I forgot!!

Wednesday January 29th
Hi all,
Some success finally. Down 2.2 lbs this week! Good WW class tonight. The instructor asked folks some of the things that were working for them. One lady mentioned that she started eating breakfast at 9:00 vs 6:30 and now doesn't need a morning snack. I had actually been thinking I could eat at 7:30 at work and skip my morning snack. I'm not sure if it's a good idea or not. (I get up at 5:30 and do my exercise at 6:00.) Any thoughts?
Ann--That's incredible that your pipes froze there. I will probably get a friend at work to show me how the elliptical trainer works and then go in on the weekend to try it out. One friend cautioned me that the machine seems to build up the muscles in her thighs quickly. However, we're talking about someone who happens to be a size 2. I think any muscle in my thighs will be preferable to flab She also said it's good for the butt.
