leg numbness and sharp pains

Hi, I just found this site And I hope someone can help me.. I had a modified radical hysterectomy with lymph node removal May 10th, I had been doing real well, until these past few weeks.. I have sharp pains in my thigh area at times and I had numbness in my thigh area after the surgery but now it is affecting a larger area... The numbness doesn't bother me as much as the sharp pains, I was wondering if anyone out there had this problem or know what might be causing it? Thank you, Dawn

leg numbness and sharp pains

Hi, and welcome to Hyster Sisters. I'm not sure what's causing the pain in your leg. Have you called the doctor about it? Wish I could help, but maybe someone will come along who can. Best wishes,

leg numbness and sharp pains

Dawn, I have expierenced the same sort of problem. Starting at about three months post hyst I began having numbness and tingling in my right hip and leg. At the same time as the numbness I expierenced pain..some times sharp..some times dull..in my right lower abdomin. I went to the Doc about it several times. Two weeks ago I had minor abdominal surgery to remove scar tissue. Doc thought it might be scar tissue entraping a nerve..or an un disolved stitch. I'm not sure that this surgery has solve the problem..time will tell. I'm beginning to think there is a nerve involved that may have been damaged during surgery. I go for my post op in two weeks. At that time I will ask the Doc about physical theraphy to see if that will help. I have read other posts from woman with the problem we are expierencing. Some have said..this feeling left with time.
So let's pray that it does. Good luck and God bless, Babs

thank you

Thank you Ctherine and Babs for responding, I called the Dr ont thursday and the nurse told me she didn't think that I had anything to worry about, but she would talk to the Dr. and have him call me back.. needless to say I didn't hear from him that day or Friday.. maybe monday?
Hope your pain goes away soon babs.. I will be praying for you.. I have an appoitment scheduled for next month for a 4 month swab i guess that's what they do, since they took my cervix, I had adenocarcinoma with lymph node involement, so my Dr. sent me to a specialist who removed my uterous, tubes, cervix and part of my vagina to be sure he got everything, my post op visit said was all clear
But I think that's why I worry so much about the pain.. I worry that the cancer has returned, but your response eases my mind! thank you again hyster sister. I love this site it is good to have woman to talk to and help if you can or just pray for..
