Bleeding after sex 7 mos POSTOP?

I didnt immediately make the connection, but I have bleeding after sex now...not LOTS...but like last day of your period type bleeding. Anybody else have this? They removed my cervix, and everything else...and my husband is as gentle as can be. Will a surgical scar bleed like that if "bothered"? I had the total last June.

And boy howdy...the hotflashes are HORRIBLE! Tried estroven but it didnt work. Prenpro either. I guess we keep searching and sweating.

Bleeding after sex 7 mos POSTOP?

It could be granulation tissue (scar tissue that has formed at the vaginal cuff) My dr. told me that if I had it, it could cause bleeding or pain with intercourse. It's very easily treated. I've read on here that it can sometimes happen several months after a hysterectomy. If you have any new bleeding or discharge you should call your dr.

Bleeding after sex 7 mos POSTOP?

Hi, Loves,

I would encourage you to call your doctor because like Happy said the internal stitching area can get infected or irritated and requires a doctor's intervention. I have met some ladies that have had this many months after surgery.

Good Luck to You, Loves,

Another part to this question

Hi there......I kinda have an add on question to this post...On Monday 2/02/03 I will be 8 weeks pot-op been healing pretty good but I also was curious about future post-op. I had TAH kept ovaries......about the part of possible scar tissue around the vaginal cuff as on post replay said........could that come from haveing sex too soon after surgery ?!?...at my 6 week 4 day my doc said it was okay to resume 'norm' activities...just no deep penetration....could this cause future scarring ?!?!?

I hope you don't mind the add on here Loves....just made me think as I was reading...

and yes I think you sould also check woth your Doc Loves :-)

Thanks
Nikkie

Bleeding after sex 7 mos POSTOP?

My bet is that you've got granulation tissue. Mine didn't prove symptomatic until nearly 7 months postop! It's taken about 2 months to get rid of it all as I have had way more than most women get. It can usually be treated with silver nitrate right in the doctor's office. Not to scare you, but in my case the first treatment of silver nitrate was not enough and I had to have a LEEP done. That was still done at my doctor's office and involved local shots in the vaginal cuff to deaden any pain, then an electric loop was used to cut off the bad tissue. Please remember mine was an extreme case!! My granulation tissue was the entire length of the cuff. Anyway, after several more treatments with silver nitrate I'm done with it.

In my case I'm sure sex was not the culprit. DH and I waited til nearly 12 weeks after surgery to be intimate again, and then took it very slow and careful.

Hope you find the cause of your bleeding and get it treated.

Bleeding after sex 7 mos postop?

Thank you all for your input on this...er....touchy subject Its hard to broach the topic with my DH as he thinks this is all too wacky to understand anyway...hes 10 years younger than I am, and suddenly it seems like 25! I am supposed to have a "intro" appt with a new doctor under my new insurance and so will bring this up to him then.

Thanks ladies!
