Horizontal and Vertical Cut

Hi,
I have a large fibroid in my uterus. The size of a 5 month
pregnancy. My Doctor wanted me to take Lupron but the
side effects scared me, so I said No to the Lupron shot now
he said that in order to see good in my uterus he may have
to do the horizontal cut if he can't see what he is doing with
that cut he will also do the vertical cut. Did anyone get both
cuts and if so how was the recuperation?

Horizontal and Vertical Cut

I had the inverted-T incision (the one with both types - vertical and horizontal).

This supposedly takes a little longer to heal, but honestly? It was very smooth for me! My surgeon initially wanted to do the horizontal only, but there was a slight complication during the procedure that made the vertical incision necessary, too - but both healed up very nicely indeed, no complications, no worries, no extra precautions, really. Just the same restrictions and healing period as everyone else (from what I'm seeing, anyway), so it wasn't really that big of an issue. It's also kind of cute having my initial on my abdomen

Feel free to drop me a note, or just click on my little www button to read more about my experience.

Lots and lots of s and best wishes for a safe surgery and smooth recovery.

Horizontal and Vertical Cut

I only had one cut- bikini.
I took Lupron for 11 mo. for endometrisis. The first two months were bad but Doc gave me something for hot flashes, ect.

Good Luck - Keep us informed

Horizontal and Vertical Cut

My doc said he was going to do the bikini cut right over my c-section cuts, but he may have to do the vertical also so he said I'd end up with an anchor look. I got by with the bikini, but since I had a tummy tuck as well, my bikini cut goes hip to hip!

At my age, no one is going to be viewing my scars though!

Blessings,
TC
