post-op. what to expect?

Hi,I am new to this site and just thought I would introduce myself!
I had a LAVH last Tuesday, Feb. 11. I had everything removed and my Doc. put me on Provera? I was wondering if anyone else is on this and if so, how has it affected them? I haven't had any really big problems so far and hopefully I won't. I have two beautiful boys and I am so greatful I was able to have them. I had endometriosis. I am looking for someone to talk to who may know what I am going through.

Thanks!!

post-op. what to expect?

Hi jojo,
Also had LAVH, Mon 2/10/03. also took everything. I was given the patch, Estradiol 0.1mg per day. So far, I'm not sure how I feel about it. I have been tearful at times, but am told that is pretty common. My other issue is that it came off my skin 2 days before it was supposed to, and they don't go back on. I'm interested in the effects of the provera. I would much rather take a pill, or use some kind of topical cream than use a patch. to us both!
God bless,
Carolinamoon

post-op. what to expect?

Hi Carolinamoon, thanks for the reply. I haven't really noticed any effects of the Provera yet. I feel pretty good right now, so it must be working!!
I did get an infection in my colon during the surgery but I'm taking an antibiotic and should take care of it in a few days!
I will let you know if I have any side effects from Provera or anything.

Good Luck

Welcome!

Hi, Jojo! Welcome to HysterSisters! I'm glad you made it through your surgery pretty well and are home recovering. I haven't heard of many ladies here who have taken Provera for their endo after having a hyst, but here's a past thread where they're discussing Lupron with add-back progesterone. http://www.hystersisters.com/vb2/sho...+endometriosis

Lots of hystersisters have had endo, and you can go up to the search button in the upper right corner (type in endometriosis) to find many threads about that. Here's hoping all your endo will die out and never bother you again! You also may want to check out the No Hormone Desert Oasis where women are supporting each other as they go through surgical menopause without estrogen. If you had your ovaries removed, you may soon notice symptoms of menopause as your body uses up all its stores of estrogen.

Take it easy and be nice to your body as it does the work of healing. You're a princess now, and deserve to be pampered for a few weeks!

post-op. what to expect?

Thanks for the reply. I did the Lupron for a year before my hyst and it did okay until it wore off and the endo came back. That's why I opted for hyst. I am strong willed and I know that I will be fine, I have a great family. I went through" menopause" with Lupron and I can do it again!

Thanks again
Nancy Jo
