bleeding from rectum

Hi, I had a TAH/BSO Feb. 4 and have been doing great. Only thing is last weekend I noticed a little blood on the toilet paper after a b/m? I was also sore and itchy back there. That passed and all seemed fine and then on Friday I saw more blood on toilet paper after b/m. I called the nurse because I figured I just needed to be reassured that this is a normal part of healing. But she didn't feel comfortable telling me that. MY gyn spends Fridays at the hospital, so she made an appointment for me Monday.

Any ideas? I did have adno and it was around my rectum as well as on other organs, so my gyn had to either cut it out or burn it off. That's why I'm thinking it's just part of the healing.

Thanks in advance!

Julie,

Always better to be safe than sorry. Could be hemmaroids - especially with the soreness and itching, but I am glad your doc wants to check it out anyway.

Take care!

Sounds to me like you've gotten hemmorhoids. I developed a bad case of them after my surgery. And they bled and hurt like crazy. More pain from them than from my hysterectomy. I am glad that your Dr. is seeing you though and she'll be able to advise you what to use to help you out. I had to take prep H suppositories and americain ointment for about ten days to get rid of those pesky critters..Good luck.!

Thanks!

I feel a lot better now, so I guess I was more concerned about the bleeding than I let on. The bleeding has stopped again, but I'll keep my appointment for tomorrow, just in case.
Thanks, again for the advice and support!
