Please Promise Me

Okay, I had to leave work yesterday because I was hurting so bad and today the pain is more dull but still there none the less. I did make it through work today though. I am one week and one day past my first shot of Lupron, so I still have a way to go. However, I would like to ask all of you to please promise me that if I ever question why I chose the hyster route you will remind me of all of my venting on here when I hurt so bad that I have to just crawl back in to bed and pray for the pain med to set in..LOL. Not to offend anyone who does question whether or not they are doing the right thing. This is strictly personal...for me.

Did anyone else have bad cramping after the Lupron? I'm thinking that in the next week or so it should start to set in and end the estrogen production and hopefully that will decrease the amount of pain spells that I experience.

Anyway, just promise me that on the off (I do mean very off) chance that I question my decision, someone will say, "Don't you remember....." (Like I could forget hurting like this.)

Just venting. Thanks for listening.

s, crickett...

Been there, done that....it's not fun dealing with so much pain.

Just know you're not alone...ok? For me, the hyster gave me back my life - I still have the odd day when I'm sore, but it's nothing compared to how I lived before the surgery!

Much love and warm wishes,

Tess

Thanks Tess. I feel like I complain all the time because of this and I am usually the "happy go lucky let's get people laughing" kind of gal. I am sooo looking forward to having this done away with!

Again, thanks for the shoulder!

P.S. Feeling much better today!

Please Promise Me

Yes, I had significant abdominal pain at about ten days post Lupron injection. I normally have quite a lot of pain mid-cycle (if there is such a thing when you have a constant period!). The pain got worse before it got better (5 days maybe?). I understand that the Lupron hyperstimulates you before your estrogen drops off to nothing. Hang in there. Lupron can be tough. Thanks for the reminder about why we make this decision. I actually had an unusual break from bleeding and was starting to have second thoughts, however it's back on again and I do know this is the best choice for me. How soon before your surgery? I'm going in on 3/17 (getting closer)! Take care!

Pain with Lupron

Hi Crickett, Poor thing.
Oh my gosh... about 10 days into my Lupron shot (I got the BIG three months at one time dose, and it just so happened it was 2 wks before my period was due) I was in SO MUCH PAIN.
I thought it was bad before... it was doubled. It lasted until my period was over (so about 10- 12 days). I had to take pain meds to function. It is because of the big surge in hormone levels. My period was worse than ever. This was all to be expected. There is some info at www.endofacts.com about Lupron Depot.

The day after I stopped bleeding was the most amazing day I've had in a year! Everyone I've talked to in the past 2 weeks keep saying the same thing... "Wow, you seem really happy." Well Duh... NO MORE PAIN!!! Whoopie! You will have that day soon. Just hang on until then. I promise, it will get better.
I still have some pain for a few hours before I have a big BM (only going about once every 3 days even with all the fiber junk) and that *****... but it should all get fixed in the surgery. Only4 weeks down, 4 & 1/2 weeks to go for me.
Big s to you.

Thanks! I had a couple of rough days there, but the pain has slacked off considerably now. And today (almost two weeks post 1st shot,) I got my first hot flash! I was so excited because the only thing going through my mind was, "This stuff is really working!" LOL

My Dr. said we will schedule surgery later in to my shot cycle. I am thinking it will be sometime in May, maybe the first bit of June because the shots will have ended and we don't want this thing to grow any more.

I envy those of you who are going sooner, but I'm extrememly happy for you too. I know that my day is drawing near, and I will take it when it comes.

Thanks for all of the support!

God Bless you all!

Me too

I had the awful thought I was going to die painful period from hell about 10 days into the Lupron, but since then very few side effects. Unfortunately it isn't shrinking the fibroid as fast as I'd hoped and I have ot wait another 2 whole months before the doctor will even consider sugery, :<
I just want all this over with!!!!!!!!!

Lupron also

HelloCrickett
I love this site I am a information junkie, I have gotten so much very good information I need a hyster becuse fo fibroids, I don't have a date yet maybe in May I got my Lupron shot (3 month one) Feb. 24 th. It's been 15 days, I got my peroid yesterday (VERY HEAVY) I thought I was done with that, I was so disapointed. I wonder what else are we are in for? I called DR. and she said that it is suppose it do that, it is to thin the lining and after I stop bleeding that I should not bleed again, to watch for soaking a pad a hour, if so, to call DR., I'm not in too much pain I was told to take Motin every 8 hours so I am even at night. I'm looking for stuff on lupron and I found this thread. I sure hope thay are right that the waiting is the hardest part becuse it surley is Hard now I wish I was on the other side. Take care Crickett and lets think happy thoughts and happy surgery days.

Wow! I wish I had read more and found out about that 10 day deal LOL. I made it through though and had my first hot flash this week! I was so excited because all I could think was that the shot is actually working! My cycle is due in about a week, so, I will see how that goes. I am keeping my fingers crossed that if I do have one, it won't be another 8 agonizing days.

It's so wonderful to have you all to talk to about this. Thanks for the support!

I am still keeping my fingers crossed for surgery sometime in May!

Love to All!
