I need some supportive words
Hi Sisters,
I had a TAV on 8\5\02. Then on 2\5\03 I had my ovaries removed. I am having the hardest time recovering from this last surgery. My husband tells me it will take longer to recover because I was still recovering from the first one and then had to have another one. The past week has been really hard on me. I want so badly to go shopping or just get out for awhile, but when I do I'm down the next day. I still have pain but don't want to take any more pain meds. I guess I just need some words from my sisters.
Thanks

Hang in there! I don't know what to say, but I know recovery is hard, and must be even harder for 2 surgeries. Keep us posted on how you're doing.

I need some supportive words
Hi Sweetie,
Zia is right, it will take more time to recover since you had a fairly recent surgery in addition. Take it easy, in time you will feel up to going out and about more. Remember to pamper the princess. Also, since you had your ovaries removed you are now in surgical menopause, this is harder on your body than a TAV alone. Your body is adjusting to the loss of hormones, are you on any HRT? If you have any questions about HRT, be sure to visit our Hormone Jungle forum. I hope you feel better soon,
 s

I need some supportive words
I understand, lorfrost, the boredom and loneliness is hard during recovery! My telephone, computer and t.v. helped, so did books and esp. my sweet little pets. I have been guilty of going out and running around too much, too, and suffering for it, but I learned my lesson. It's hard to sit around by yourself when you're used to getting out and about whenever you want. Hang in there, you're not realllllly alone--we're all sitting around the house, too, so just send us another message, ok?

lorfrost,
Your sisters are all here to comfort you..
Maybe you could come to chat sometime and we could all talk in real time.
Have you been doing any walking? I know it's not as good as paying a visit to the mall, but it does get you out from within those four walls.....AND it's good for you!
Please try to have patience and do everything you're supposed to do, lorfrost. Most of us can sympathize. We've been at the point where we want to just pull out our hair from boredom!! :hair:
s and wishes for a speedy recovery

Thank you all for your replies. I needed them!! I wanted to answer one sister. I am in full menapause now. I can't take any hormones for awhile because I still have endo on my bowel. That needs to get cleared up before I can go hormone therapy. So I can see that my body is freaking out. Any way, Thanks for the words and I hope to feel better soon.

I promise it will get better!
I had a myomectomy in October and a SAH in December, and between the two surgeries, I was just wiped out -- and I had really forgotten what feeling good or even half normal was like until like the last week. But now it is getting better.
Be kind to yourself. It is alot to go through, and there will be a time, before you know it, when you'll be doing all your old routines (OK, I'm not there yet either at 2.5 months post-hyst, 5 months post-myomectomy ... but every day I feel a little closer). And then, you'll almost miss sitting around (OK, I'm a little bit there already!).
As to the pain meds, especially with my slow recovery ... I tried to back off way too soon (for me) and really got depressed with all the pain. I ended up staying on them longer, I think, because I got so upset and emotionally triggered by the pain. A few weeks later, and it was alot easier to back off. Don't hurt yourself -- there's no point in that! Please take care, and bless the day!
with love,
Loretta
