3 weeks post-op problems

Hi, I am 3 weeks and one day post-op. I have been feeling great then....... Yesterday I woke up with horrible gas pain, high fever and unable to pass anything.(gas or otherwise) I can keep the fever down with Tylenol but when it wears off, fever is back. As high as 101.9 How long did you all take the stool softener/laxitive? I haven't been taking it out of fear of becomming laxitive dependant? I go to the DR. for a checkup tomorrow but would love your input.

Please call your doctor. I was told to report any fever over 101.5. Also, you're assuming your pain is from gas. It could be something else, and your doctor will be able to tell. I hope you feel better soon.

I too say to give your Dr a call. With a fever it could be anything. And you don't know. It's always best to be safe than sorry.
As for the stool softener. I took the colace, just softener without any laxative in it for the first month. I didn't want to take laxatives, just a softener.
