checking with everyone

Hi to all my friends thank you for all your support and prayers. I am 9 1/2 weeks post op ( lavh no ovaries) . I am having a better week then the last 3. My boss at work is finally leaving me alone and not yelling at me for every little thing. I had a nice talk with her and told her she was hurting my feelings and now things are starting to get back to some normal. My emotions are up one day and down the next taking estratest, and celexa anti-depressent, so im feeling pretty good. I have decided to go for counseling starting on Monday. I see my dr on april 9th will talk to him about still being sore and my emtional rollercoaster. Does any other ladies out there still having scoreness or having emotional problems sometimes i feel alone. I would like any opinions or support on this. I don't know how to deal with my emotoions anymore. thanks for your support.

Hi there,
I had my surgery on 1/13/03 TVH..one day before you! I am doing great...I haven't been on a rollercoaster...probably since I still have my ovaries. When I returned back to work, my boss didn't even ask how I was doing or said one word to me about my surgery. I was off for 8 weeks! I went to Hawaii and got a nice dark tan and she said nothing about that either! That is the only thing that upsets me....other than I haven't seen any of my family members either besides my DH and 3 DD. I was kind of upset that they didn't call to see how I was doing. They only live 20 min. from me. They don't understand what it is all about. My boss told me before I left work that it is no big deal to have a hyst. Yeah. it is no big deal to have your uterus removed from your body..NOT! Oh well, don't get me going...I am glad I had the hyst..no more periods, cramps or granny undies. I am just trying to lose 15lbs. I will do it... Thanks for listening to me...I love all of you hystersisters! If it weren't for all of you I would of been a basket case b4 and after the surgery...thanks again.

Hi shorty,

I'm sorry your boss is not so understanding I remember still being sore at 9 weeks, I was on vacation at the time, and tried not to spoil it for my family, but I had some really sharp pains (that I even posted about here) at 9 weeks, thinking that something was wrong. I did check them out with my dr., (you should always do that) but I was still healing, and they eventually went away. For some of us, it is a longer recovery. And, for some of us it is an emotional roller coaster, as you described. My guess is that you are still leveling out (it can take some time), but don't be afraid to ask your dr. for help with the HRT, many of us don't find the right balance on the first try. Also, pop on over to the Hormone Jungle Forum, there are other sisters who are working to balance those hormones, and you can get some good info there. Good luck to you, and let us know how you're doing. (BTW, I'm on Estratest HS and if you need any info I'd be glad to share). s

Marta
