Just when I thought normal ????

Cyd:

Your coyote howling at moon is adorable. I was just wondering about this recovery to date I had tah/bso with appendix out too April 17-00. I am really feeling so much better and can do most everything but find when I over do I get set back somewhat and have dog days is this normal. I am also caring for my elderly Mother (lives with us) which isn't too demanding just constant it seems she likes attention most of the time. It is not that I ignore her we sit and talk etc... we walk almost daily over a mile and this is good but she is always asking where I am....in the house that is....she has good days and some I think depressing days. I try to encourage her to do her painting but she is giving this up it seems and makes me feel a little depressed when I see her starting to be so frail. I have a DH who is just wonderful so this keeps me even.., but I do get tired and seem to want my space. I still feel I am recovering but overall good. Does stress have an affect on you body after this hyst?? It must. I sometimes have a minor abdominal lower pain after doing
just normal housework but only sometimes. I just think I am doing too much...Just when I think I have recovered reasonably well to date I get the worry with her and then I get little pains here and there. Not to the point of asking Dr. anything as I can handle it just wondering about STRESS affecting us f0llowingt surgery.. I guess this is the right place to land and ask a few ???? Thanks for listening and anyone like me would love to hear back. I still feel like I have been invaded lower pelvic area but assume this is normal healing still taking place. My last check was end of July so I don't go back until Jan 2001 gave me green light... thanX so much!!

Just when I thought normal ????

I am happy to say that you sound very normal!! I know that it is hard to accept, especially when we see posts from women who are quick healers! I have read posts from women who, even after 8 mos of recovery and more, have overdone themselves. I know that I felt like I would never be rid of the "bad days!" I understand your pain, not bad to call the doc, but you feel it and need to rest! You have a lot on you and stress does play a major role in things! It sounds to me like you are on the recovery path that the majority of us take. We all have bad days, and I still do, but I also have IBS so it is hard to decipher which is which! Please try not to get depressed with this...you are not alone at all! If you would like, post on the Road Less Traveled Board and I am sure that you will see that for yourself!! When you have a rough day, listen to your body and rest!! You will feel back to par in a day or so! Just remember back to when all of your days seemed like bad days, and that should bring a smile to your face, knowing that you can see the improvement!! Take care and I will keep you in my thoughts!!!

Many THANKX Cyd for answering me!

For Cyd: How comforting it was to wake up and check out this site to see a nice reply from you. Thanks for the encouragement. I will try to stay focused but those days do slip in there and I rather like those blue skiies which by the way today it is just gorgeous. I do notice when I take a day or two to be just alone and quiet I do feel better. I think I know what you mean with IBS but not sure??? Hyster hugs for you Cyd for taking the time to respond with so many other women having more critical issues. It just plain helps!!! p.s. how do you get the TIME???? Carole

Just when I thought normal ????

IBS stands for irritable bowel syndrome. I was diagnosed years ago and had things under control, but surgery has really shook things up all over again! But, I am dealing with it...along with sluggish ovaries! I really do enjoy responding to everyone, but still feel bad if I don't get to every post. It bothers me that I am busy with the 4 boards that I hostess and don't really get to the pre and post op boards. Thank goodness that I am a stay at home mom!
I really do enjoy those warm baths with scented candles lit and a good book for relaxation!! Ahhhhh! And don't feel guilty because no matter what kind of lifestyle we have, we all need a rest and some quiet time to ourselves!! So, enjoy yourself and the quietness whenever you can!! Time to just think by ourselves does wonders!! Well you take care and I am so pleased to hear that you were comforted by my response!! You made my day!!!!!!
