5 months out and still bleeding....

I had my TAH/BSO and hernia repair on Oct. 29th, 2002 with quite a few complications. I am feeling wonderful now except that I'm still bleeding. I had one huge hematoma identidied by CT scan while I was still in the hospital and another smaller one at the incision site. Anyway, my doctor said that we would just watch it and it should clear up. I had another surgery in January for bladder repair and that is going really well. My doctor said that he would be patient until five or six months. Then we would have to do something about it. Well, here we are at five months and I'm still bleeding. I just wondered what information anyone has about this. I read some other posts on hematomas but didn't see anything else this long after. Thanks.........

Hi Leslie!

I am sorry to hear that you are having some complications. I am not sure what threads you have already looked at but I found a few that may be helpful to you:

If you have not made another appointment with your doctor, I think now would be a good time to give them a call back. I hope you are feeling better soon.

5 months out and still bleeding....

Leslie,

I haven't had any experience except with a very small hemo. during one of my other surgeries but wanted to send s your way.

Please do give the DR a call if you haven't already so you can get on your way to being completely healed.

I hope you find a resolution real soon to all this bleeding!

s,
lenee
