hormone changes after LAVH/ovaries left in

Hi everyone!
I love this site.
I will have my surgery on April 24th.
I was wondering, I will have hys through the vagina and they will take my cervics too but leave ovaries.
Has anyone noticed, were your hormones the same? did you still have PMS?, bloating?
I get weepy just before my period and kind of down.

The concensus is that if your ovaries are left, they keep producing eggs. Of course, eggies go nowhere. So with hormones still kicking, you certainly could still experience PMS, bloating, swelly boobs, etc.

I kept mine and already had one emotional moment that I contribute to PMS. For me it was less intense and shorter duration.

I look at it this way - my main trouble is gone.

I have had a few "warm moments" during th enight. Maybe hormones are giggling around.

Hugs,
Littlebear

Hi DeAnn!

I had my LAVH a year ago - I kept both ovaries. I have had no hormonal changes. I do still get PMS symptoms but they have been milder since my surgery. I get breast tenderness, slight headache, and some moodiness. However, I no longer have the excessive bleeding and horrible cramps.

Be sure to post here after your surgery and let us know how you are doing. Take care.
