I keep thinking of other questions...not a sign I'm a little bit anxious, is it . I take several medications daily. Do you know if I bring them to the castle with me?

Hi Rochelle, I too take daily meds and I was told if I chose to go ahead and bring mine from home. THE DR. said he could order them for me but then you have the inflated hospital charge.Since every DR. and facility is different just ask what they recommend. Take Care elizza

I also take daily meds and will bring them with me, just in case. However, sometimes, they need to give them to you, so they know exactly what you've taken. So it might be up to hospital policy.

This is a question that will be answered at your pre-op exam. In most cases where I am you are asked to bring your meds to your PRE-OP but not to the hospital on the day of your surgery. The exception to this is if you are taking something that the hospital does not have on hand. I, for example, take a couple of prescription medications that are compounded and I was asked to bring those with me.

I also am on several
daily medications. My regular dr. (not my OB/GYN) told me to take the meds with me to the hospital and to let the anisthesiologist (sp) a day before the surgery what I am on. The OB/Gyn knows also.

Usually at the hospital pre-op they ask what meds you are taking on a regular basis. If they tell you to bring them to the hosp, quite often the nurses will be respondible for administering them. It's really important that your caregivers know exactly what and how much of everything, even something that seems as harmless as aspirin, stool softeners, or meds that you take every day. This is to avoid possible drug interactions with something they may give you. So even if your DR says to take your meds, be sure that the nursing staff is aware of it.
Also with brain fog it can be dangerous, because it's so easy to forget if you've taken your meds or not.
