NHS rescheduling

Calling all NHS patients!

I am supposed to be going into hospital tomorrow for surgery on Monday and today I had a phone call from the hospital saying there may not be a bed and I will have to be re-scheduled! Am absolutely pole-axed. Has anyone else had this happen and how long did you have to wait.

Help

Wendy

NHS rescheduling

Wendy, I am so sorry.

I'm 2 weeks pre-op and I'm already in overdrive trying to get organised and deal with the mix of emotions I have. I can only imagine how you must be feeling. Hopefully you won't get delayed too long.

Hugs & best wishes.

NHS rescheduling

Hi Wendy

I have heard people having to ring the ward morning of operation to make sure the bed is still available. I would not worry too much as they try and get the major ops out of the way before they do the minor ones. I am sure if they have not enought beds they will cancel someone else's surgery that is not as important as yours.

If surgery is cancelled they will get you in asap as soon as there is a bed available, just tell them you can go in anytime. But I would not get yourself all worked up, I know it is easy for me to say as I have had mine done 1yr ago yesterday , but do hang in there.

I hope all goes well and any questions or fears that you have just drop me an email.

Hugs

Jane

Big s to you my friend - I only just got your e-mail. I got sick of being messed around by the NHS and went private. Make a lot of noise that's all I can suggest - this is not a minor op - its like they don't even care what goes into this - emotionally, physically - all the preparation. I really hope you still get to go in - everything crossed for you
