I'm not sure if I'm in the right place but I'm wondering if anyone out there is familiar with VANIQA. I picked up a brochure from the waiting room at my last visit to DR. on my way out. I have an appt. on Wednesday and I will ask then. Is it effective? Is it permanent? Does insurance cover and if not what is the cost? Any info is appreciated. Thanks elizza

I asked about it when it first came out. At that time it was about $100.00. I do not know what it is now, nor if insurance will cover it. I guess it depends on your policy. If it was not so much money I would have tried it! I am tired of getting rid of my "beard" every day! I am thinking about trying this lotion that they advertise cuts down on the need for shaving legs. Maybe Jergens puts it out? I keep forgetting to look when I go to the store. Judith

Hey,
I've been doing vaniqua, worked for a while, but now hair on my chin coming back. it's a lighter color though. I heard from someone else who was using it that it wasn't permanent also. I'm not sure if anything is permanent!

I have not tried Vaniqua, myself, but my then teenage daughter, who was always a little hairy did and had excellent results.
Our insurance did not pay for it, so it was pricey, but for her peace of mind, we thought it worthwhile.
She had a residual effect of hair not growing back in as profusely or as dark. As a matter of fact, her upper lip was hair free for months, despite the fact that she stopped using it.
As for me, when I get my hair cut each month, my beautician waxes my chin and upper lip as well as my brows. I may get a stray hair once in a while, but the tweezer handles that until my next appointment.
If your beautician does not perform this service, I know some nail salons do. It is $10.00 well spent, for me!

I am saving up to have the laser hair removal. I think it's $200 to $300 for the face, but it would be worth it to have it gone forever. It can take two visits though.
