4th week and feeling BLAH..
I'm in my 4th week post op and feeling worse than I did my 2nd week.
I live in the Northeast and the weather here has been nothing but cloudy with rain/snow almost every day. I feel so blah. My stomach seems to be hurting more especially when I get up out of a chair. Feels like I pulled a muscle or something. I have been doing some little things around the house(dusting, dishes, putting laundry away) and I did push a grocery cart the other day. I wonder if that had something to do with the new pains.
My question is this: Just when will this tiredness start to go away and when will I start feeling like myself again? I'm usually a busy person and this is starting to get on my nerves...AND no sunshine doesn't help either.

blah here too....
Dear Cindy, I'm post 4 weeks today!!!!!TAH, one ovary left. Gloomy here in Michigan, ice on the trees this morning, yuk!!!!! I am getting bummed on the slowness of my recovery, I thought by now I'd "feel" better, you know an allover better feeling. I see somewhat of an improvement but the belly thing is , well, still swelly. Can you sleep? My biggest thing is lack of decent sleep. Before the surgery I slept really well, now I feel like I'm addicted to Ambien!! Uggghhh......I do feel better in the morning, more energy to do things, at night it's a struggle though. I hope we both get some rest at night and see and feel ourselves getting better. Take care Cindy and if you get a chance come on to chat, it's fun!!!!!!

4th week and feeling BLAH..
Cindy,
I too went through what you are. It's hard to be chipper when you're bored and not suppose to do anything. I found going into the chat room to be the best medicine for my blahs. Also, if you have a shopping mall close by and you are up to it, go. Nice place to do indoor walking, window shopping, and people watching. And you can sit and rest if you need to.
The worst thing I did at 4 1/2 weeks, was push a shopping cart. It wasn't even 1/2 full, but steering it was hard on the tummy. I was sore for 2 days after. I am almost 8 weeks now, and doing all the things I did before surgery (within reason). Remember to be good to your body and take it easy.

4th week and feeling BLAH..
Hey Cindy!
I am 5 weeks post-op. I live about 45 miles from ya, and I believe it's time to go to the tanning salons just to make us feel a whole lot better. I've had a great recovery, I've been as active as I could without overdoing, but I'm feeling a little down. I feel like this anyway at this time of year, it's so ugly and dreary and no sunshine in site at least for the next week or so. But it's going to get better, so we have to hang in there! I've read more books in the last 5 weeks than I have in a year, I've walked alot, but I'm ready to get back to work and have a normal routine again!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But I do understand, although I'm anxious, I don't want to overdo and do anything stupid! It's so hard. I am on this website everyday, usually just reading all that I can, and without this site I would have gone crazy. It's helped me know what others go thru and how lucky I've been! So hang in there, those nice sunny days are going to do us a world of good when they get here!!!!!!!!!!!!!

4th week and feeling BLAH..
Hi Cindy-
I am 4 weeks post op and just 2 days ago started to feel sooooo much more like myself. I started to drive again and that made a big difference to me. I still desire an afternoon nap and by 5 o'oclock I am ready for bed! But I do somewhat feel that I made a turn around within the last few days. Keep the faith, all good things come to those who wait!

4th week and feeling BLAH..
Hi Cindy...what a blah day today, huh? lol. Its so gloomy outside. I'm crabby, I think I'm having PMS. I'll be 6 weeks post op on Monday, which is when I go see my Dr. and hopefully be released of the last restriction put on me...not that at the moment I want to be touched, let alone looked at or breathed on (nope, didn't miss my mood swings ). Hopefully spring will come back and stay soon.

4th week and feeling BLAH..
I had a TAH and at first I felt like every day I was getting better. My 3rd week post was my best. My 4th week post everything started hurting in a different way. My came back with a vengence, which caused back pain for a few days. My incision ached and stung, which I hadn't felt up until then. I'm 12 weeks post now and still get achy, swelling, and new pains. The pain has never been bad enough to need pain meds, but it did somedays make me feel like I was going backwards in my recovery. Frustrating, but so normal. I know I was very active after 3 weeks post when I got the ok to drive. I was running more, little errands, but running nonetheless. I was cleaning more on my DR recommendation. She wanted me to gradually work back up to housework. I did gradual very well because I never had that oops... I overdid it experience during my 6 weeks of recovery. Don't get discouraged. Every week I was able to do more than the previous week before I hit that achy point. Sometimes I'd go all week and by Fri. I would sleep for 13 hours because I felt exhausted. When I recharged my batteries; I'd start going again. I'm still doing that 3 months post. I'm expecting it to take a year before I feel totally normal again from reading posts of who have gone before me here. Good luck. Take each day one at a time. We'll get there

4th week and feeling BLAH..
Hi,
I'm at four weeks post-op myself and I've also been feeling like this is taking longer than it should. In a way I worry that I'm not pushing myself hard enough, but if I start to get more active, I worry that I'm going to overdo it! The activities I have added back in (took a cat-sitting job, for one) are a challenge--the fatigue is the worst, and the swelly belly is a good alert that it's time to lie down!
I keep thinking that other women are able to do more than this, so why can't I? But I have to say, reading this board is a reality check. We're all individual in our recovery, and we're all going to get through this at our own pace. If we don't die of boredom, that is! *g*

4th week and feeling BLAH..
Hi Cindy,
I am also at 4 weeks, and feeling pretty down. I am still very sore and extremely tired, the belly is still so big, and because I have to shift my weight to get comfortable, different parts of the body hurt aslo. I would love to take a long comfortable nap, I have never been one to nap in the day, so it is almost impossible. I still cannot sleep in our bed, I am on the lounge chair end of the sofa, and still need my husbands to help me get up. I do do a bit of house work at this point, but I feel when I am over doing it. I am going crazy seeing my house get worse and worse as I wait to feel better. I went to the doctors, and she told me it was still early in my recovery, and I went through alot prior to surgery, so I have to be patient and rest. I hope in 2 weeks I can look back and feel abit better also. You are not alone. I am not a happy princess either. I hope we all feel better soon. This is tougher then I think alot of us thought it was going to be.
