cramps cramps cramps
Hi ((((((((((((((((((Bitsy)))))))))))))))))))
I have non-stop cramping, too, whether I am bleeding or not. Doctor says it's the adenomyosis. That is when the inner lining of the uterus grows into the uterine muscles...therefore, the cramping.
I'm sorry you are in pain...

You're lucky as far as I'm concerned. I had continual bleeding and cramping. It just got worse as the days went by right up til my surgery.

Simi,
Thanks for you note...I appreciate it. These cramps are unbearable at times....
TC,
Thanks for you note...Wish I did feel lucky, but I dont feel so lucky right now. I have been bleeding consistently from Mar 10th till 2 days ago...These cramps are really bad, just like I get right before the flood gates open. I keep anticipating that any minute, but it hasnt come yet.
Anyrate, was wondering if anyone else experiences this???

I only considered you lucky because you went two days without bleeding while I never stopped bleeding. I understand your pain though. I too bled for months on end. Perhaps *lucky* was a poor choice of words. I ended up in the ER needing blood transfusion 3 weeks before my surgery date.

cramps ... yes ...
bitsyboo:
I can empathize about your cramps -- for about 5 years before my TAH, I experienced a good 2 weeks worth of cramps before the flow ever started. I found this very frustrating (always wore a pad because I just never knew). I found one of my best reliefs to be pretty high doses of Ibuprofen (for me, 800 mg 3 times a day). They discovered Grade IV endo in me when they did my TAH on 3/19. The only thing that made life bearable (and the doc wondered how I was walking around) was Ibuprofen.
Ibu can be hard on your stomach -- so you'd want to take a Tums, eat (or I found Calcium enriched Orange Juice would do me in a pinch). You might want to ask your doctor if this seems like a reasonable option. For me, this did not give me total relief, but it gave me enough relief to function day to day.
Best wishes ...
Diana

TC,
I am glad to have a reprieve from the bleeding...after bleeding for a month it was tiresome.
Bleeding to the point of needing a transfusion must have been scary. I cannot imagine that. Where in Texas are you? I'm in Fort Worth...

Hi Diana,
My doc did talk to me about Ibu...but we decided I am already on 2 potent anitiflammatories due to my spine problems and that should be enough to help...I'd hate to think what things would be like if I didnt already have that and the pain meds that I take for my back as well...
