Feeling GREAT

I"m 2 weeks post-op and feeling great. No pain at all. I do have a question though - I just went to the potty and when I wiped, there was a little bit of blood on the tissue. Any clues??? Have I damaged myself somehow??? I haven't done any lifting or anything strenuous, but must admit to feeling more than a little concern... Am I being crazy?

Feeling GREAT

I had some of that as well on and off. I am 4 weeks post. My Dr. said that it may just be some blood from the surgery that is usually absorbed into the tissue just found it's way into the bladder. The bladder is also bruised during the surgery sometimes as well. As long as it is not a lot of blood I don't think you did anything. As always it is a good idea to call your Dr. and talk to the nurse. They are usually a quick easy way of answering these types of questions.

Feeling GREAT

Don't worry! Many (most) of us have some bleeding/discharge for several weeks' Didn't they prepare you for this in the hospital? There was a pad between my legs when I woke up and a supply ready for me to use there. It continued as bloody for a while, then just watery pink, finally brownish. Now gone 5 1/2 wks post op.

Feeling GREAT

You may have lost a stitch. I can't tell what surgery you had, but I had a TVH, and lost a stitch right at 2 weeks. I had very little spotting the entire time, and suddenly I had red blood. Not a lot, but it worried me. We were also in the middle of a 26" snowstorm at the time. I had my 2 week follow up the next day. The DR did an internal, and said I had lost a stitch, and he cauterized it. Cauterizing is just rubbing a swab with silver nitrate on it over the stitched area. No pain.

one more thing

along with the light spotting that I've had all day (kind of reddish brown in color) I've also started cramping just a little bit. I had a TVH and kept my overies - and - this is about the time I would start ovulating - could that be what this slight cramping thing is about? or should I just call my Dr tomorrow to be on the safe side.

same thing 3 weeks out

I am three weeks out of surgery tomorrow. I had a LAVH. I started back to work doing massages at two weeks keeping my schedule very light. I had very little bleeding during surgery, but have an occasional brown discharge with very light almost unnoticeable cramping. Yesturday, I did two deep tissue, one hour massages. I used to do up to 5 or six per day. That night I got a pain on my right side very close to being under the incision. The pain only occurred with walking. It seemed like a muscular cramp. Today it is better, just sore but the spotting returned. I took it easy today and hope to feel better tomorrow. I also wonder if I should call my doctor.
Thanks for any additional input
Vicki
