pelvic washing

After my tah bso I had a pelvic washing, I didn't ask any questions about this at the time. I found a little bit of info about it on the internet. This was a precaution in case of cancer. Has anyone else had the pelvic washing and what do you know about it.

Pelvic washing on the path report

I had a pelvic washing with my TAH in January. On the surgical pathology/cytology report from the hospital it is noted as a specimen received and described. The results of the examination are included in the Diagnosis portion of the report.

If you order a copy of your pathology report from your surgeon or hospital (I got mine from the doctor's office) it should tell you what was noted in the washings.

pelvic washing

Hi, Buffie! The ladies in the Cancer Concerns forum will most likely be happy to explain about pelvic "washing" and how to interpret pathology results, since a lot of them had that. http://www.hystersisters.com/vb2/for...d=6&daysprune=

If your dr hasn't reported to you any abnormalities found, then you probably had no signs of cancer and don't need to worry. But I still would get a copy of my pathology report like Elizabeth did, just for my own peace of mind.

Best wishes for continued good recovery. s
